I once asked Julie how we could possibly be related. I was uncomfortable on the third rung of a ladder. She was jumping out of an airplane, bungie jumping off a bridge (in New Zealand I think), climbing Mount Rainier, leading rock climbing classes, wilderness hiking, and kayaking in Alaska while watching a bear rummage through her camp. She said "She faced her fears." Some of the experiences became life-long pursuits because she found she loved them. The plane and the bungie jump were a "one and done!"
Julie encouraged me to take chances. She was my big sister. She protected me. My life has been enriched because of her influence. Even now, in my kitchen, I am reminded of her instructions of the right way to do things.
Julie has been in my life for 80 years. Her wisdom and love have been priceless. I am blessed to be her little sister. We closed our weekly calls with "I love you." Rest in Peace Honey......

Well I don’t think I have any photos of Julie and me but I know some must exist. I have an intense love of nature and animals which I attribute to the same dna as Julie. She is the only person in the family that I know loved animals quite as much! I did not have contact for years but recently had a call with aunt Julie and aunt Mary and it was just like we had seen each other yesterday. Family is family however disconnected by this spread out world. I will miss her and she always comes to mind when out for a walk. Rest in peace sweet lady!
