Whether he was advising us at the emergency department, or when chatting with him at the gas pump, I always found Dr. Charles to be a friendly and positive member of our community of Alta Vista Hospital and Las Vegas, NM. I will miss him and his ability to "de-stress" our often challenging hospital situations.

Sending prayers and my condolences to Joslyn and the family.  Dr. Charles was such a wonderful Dr.  I really learned a lot working with him. Gone but never forgotten.
Our condolences to the family. Hearing of your passing came as quite a shock. You were special as a child, and grew into quite an outstanding young man. You will definitely be missed… gone too soon. Ap. John & Mrs Carmen Boney & Family.🙏
I worked with Dr. Charles helping him with little Ob/Gyn jobs here and there and over the years I’ve been blessed enough to become his friend. He used to say he was my big bro and I was his little sis. He had a way of making you feel special and heard. Over the years we would talk often, whether we had work to do together or not, and I always looked forward to the positive words he spoke into my life. We connected over our shared faith and work and family. He especially loved talking about how incredibly proud he was of his children and how wonderfully they turned out and how secure he felt in their futures. Joslyn, he talked about how much he loved you and wanted to try to spend more time with you. Almost every conversation he talked about how much he valued you as a person and wanted above all things for you to be happy. In our last texts I said that I had faith that all things have purpose and can be used for good. In the lives of his family, friends and patients he was an instrument for good. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to know Dr. Charles and I take comfort in knowing that he is in heaven resting in eternal peace.
There will absolutely never be another like him. He was the kindest, most compassionate doctor I've ever met. He will be truly missed
People come, people go.    Joe is the ultimate big brother.  I miss him so much.  This is an eternal connection.   The time weve shared will always be alive on my heart.  I am so grateful for 50 years with him in my life.  I love Joe so much.
I'm so sorry for your loss, he was a good man and excellent Dr.  Rest in peace Dr Charles 🙏 😢 😞
I'm glad I had the pleasure of working with him at Lowell CI. Such a humble and kindhearted doctor. Prayers for the family🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
