This message is for Gloria Morgan John’s beautiful and precious wife. I am very sad to hear of John’s passing away
You will be in my prayers

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. Gloria is one of the sweetest people  I know, and my heart is sad for the family, but I hope they find comfort in their memories of him.
We offer our deepest condolences on your loss. Brother John (aka Butch) was a kindred spirit, and I'm so thankful to have had him in my life as a teenager and young adult. Carl and I were blessed to have him officiate our wedding. Sending love and prayers for your peace and comfort.

I know Butch will be missed, but what a life he led and what a legacy he left! His witness will endure, and the lives he touched will continue to touch others with the same grace and spirit he carried. May the Grace of Our Lord and the Comfort of His Presence abide with Gloria and their children and grandchildren, as well as all other family and friends of this joyful, faithful servant.

John, I didn't know your dad. But I know and am impressed by his son. What I know of you tells me a lot about the character and integrity of your dad. I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm very grateful for the role model you had of a life well-lived.

Gloria, what a beautiful life he lived! I am so sorry for your loss and I hope his memory will be a blessing. With love, Beverly Booth Lowdermilk
I was shocked  when I heard the news of John's passing. Brother John and Mrs Gloria loved all their church families and children. My children grew very close to them during their childhood times and we will never forget the love and kindness that was shown to us all. Prayers for Mrs Gloria and their 4 children as well as the whole family. He was a great and godly man and will never be forgotten. Love Renee Acker Gant .

John Morgan the Second and I share some impassioned differences over Baptist identity in the Public square my years that coincided with his forty in my Mother's hometown of Collinsville Alabama. But through the minor drama I considered him and the family good friends. We had some fun time in Sunday school. He officiated the funeral of both my Mother and Father and was a great friend to the family in 1987 my Mother's last year on the earth. I joined two of his youth trips to Jekyll Island and he indulged my antics in the volleyball contests in the old gym ,y but I was never on top of the invitation to play list.

As the obit says he was a man of the community and I was lucky with the others to be in the neighborhood. He added much relish to my thirty years there.

The Beatles got it right: The Love you take is equal to the Love you make. He carries a lot with him. And the Poet Schiller, the death of one who is Loved is glorious

So sorry that the Morgan family has lost this wonderful man who we got to know and love all these years, but the legacy he leaves in children and grandchildren is a remarkable testament to a life well lived.  May he rest in peace with his Lord he served so well.
He was great friend, colleague, and a tremendous man of God. We will greatly miss him.

Gloria, my heart goes out to you and your family. Though we haven’t kept up over the years, I still have such fond memories of our friendship at Stratford. We had so many good times and shared lives of having four boys. We are so blessed to have all those boys and families. Johnny and you were always examples of fun, friendship and faithful living. I was so lucky to have had you both as friends over the years at Stratford. Love to all of you.

Much love to your family as you celebrate his life and face the days ahead. I have fond memories of “Butch” from reunions and my family’s visits to your home when I was young. I remember his laughter, joy, warmth, and mischievous spirit. ❤️

I’ve never met Pastor John II, but I feel like I know him a little through John III. John III is my neighbor in Georgia. The Bible says “You know a tree by the fruit that it bears”.  Because his son and daughter in love is always kind and thoughtful, John II must have been the same. I’m sure he will be missed and he has left a huge void in his family, church, and community.

My condolences, Pastor Corey and Kesha Lavender.
