I have only great memories and moments from and with Johan. Besides being a super competent and professional, Johan was a very special person. Always a pleasure to meet him in our global meetings. I have two moments I would like to share: We were in Milan in 2015 when I got my wallet stolen with all money and credit cards and Johan realized my despair and, without asking, he called me and we walked out to the street to find an ATM to lend me some money... he really saved my weekend in Milan! And, few months after I left ABB in 2019, he called me to ask how I was and if needed something. He was the only foreigner who call me... That really shows how Johan always was: aweome company, kind, gentile and worried with all.
My thoughts go out to Herlina, Kiona and Fiomena and all of Johan's family.

My condolences to Johan's family. I have been working with Johan for the past 5 years. His knowledge and competence, especially his ability to see the needs in the organization always identifying what must be done and by whom to reach the overall goal, was simply amazing. In all this he had a warmth and an understanding for each and every person that he worked with, always able to see that persons needs and adhere to their aspirations.
Johan, thank you for everything, you are greatly missed, and you will always have a place in my heart.

the news of Johan’s passing left me in a state of disbelief and great sadness
I’ve had the pleasure working with him more and more closely over the last 3 years. During this time, I’ve come to get to know him as an incredible source of competence and ideas. He was just brilliant in his work. On top, he was a very passionate, generous, and funny person and I will miss him dearly.

Johan was both a close colleague and dear friend. But over recent years we did not speak as often as we should have, something I will now always regret. As is so often the case, I only realize how much he will be missed now that he has gone all too soon.
Thank you for the memories Johan. I'll remember the times we laughed together the most.

I have known Johan from the beginning of his career with ABB. He was a highly intelligent and driven contributor who cared deeply for ABB, and for his colleagues. A great manager always focused on improving himself, learning, and driving activities to improve the performance of his team. He had a great sense of humor and a way to build trust and collaboration with all that he worked with. It has been a great pleasure to know him and work with him. I am still trying to come to grips that he has left us so soon. He will be deeply missed. My deepest sympathies to Herlina, Kiona, and Fiomena.
