Joel was in DeMolays with my three brothers. Mike, Bob, & Al Ryan. I have a picture of Joel with the group of DeMolays, but do not know how to send it to this site. I did send it to Ida. She is better with computers than I, so hopefully she can attach it to the condolence page. Joel was always a gentleman and very kind. May the Lord bless the Hackett family and comfort them through this difficult time. .

“ But Linda didn’t he go to Banning High School?” I thought they were all hoods, how could he be in SAE? Those were my first words about Joel Hackett. Thus began a courtship ,engagement ,marriage and baby girls…so many college stories ,but my favorite about the 3 of us related to our Geology lab in college. The 3 of us HATED THE LAB WORK. So Joel got Linda to flirt with the geology nerds to help us..True story ,Linda would spend time with the ‘smart students”and come back in 20 minutes or so and tell us what we needed to do . Joel would say no one can resist Linda…. Engagement , wedding and babies that grew up and gave them both new babies to love…I loved Joel ,through all our youthful antics ,he was the calm guy,who would just shake his head.. He and his buddies got in on the first wave of Xerox business machines. He worked hard and his success gave his family a great life..I had not seen for a very long time, but just last week he jumped in on a Facebook thread where I Was teasing Allie— I was truly thrilled to hear from him, truly thrilled even though it was a trite and quick exchange. You made the world a better place,Joel. I am so glad you had all those years of retirement and great fun loving with your friends ,family and Diane. You will be missed . Karen

David and I are so sorry to learn of Joel's passing. We shared a lot of memories together working for Xerox and then as agent owners at all of the business meetings and President's Clubs. He was a stand up guy and he will be missed. Our hearts go out to all of you! Jennifer & David Berman

Definitely a sad loss for many of us. I had the pleasure of knowing Joel throughout our Xerox Journey, and he was a wise, intelligent and thoughtful Leader. I always felt that I could trust his guidance and he created a beautiful work environment family focused at QDocx. I am thankful I met him. May Lindsey, Dianne, and the family feel the embrace of God during these challenging times.

Shocked and stunned that we're doing this now. Thanks, Lindsey, for finding Everloved and making it available to us. It is so remarkable how our paths crossed and uncrossed with you, your dad, your mom and your step-mom over the past 50+ years. The Xerox Connection is a most amazing thing, for which we are all grateful. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers, and that you all will find your way through this soon enough.

I am saddened to hear the news about Joel. Joel was an Icon in the industry, respected by business partners and equally by his competitors. Besides his children, one of his most enormous successes in life was his marriage to Diane. Diane and Joel were an incredible team. I knew if I completed with Joel on a deal I had to bring my A+ game. I rarely won against this lion. I know his business legacy is in good hands with his beloved daughter Lindsay.
God Bless you, Joel and Diane

Joel was a true brother and friend to my father. He has been a presence in my life from birth to his passing and I am blessed for it. I’ve no doubt his part in the fraternity stories will only get more embellished and I look forward to each and every one.

Words cannot truly express the sadness we feel for Diane and Joels’ girls ❤️and both sides of grandchildren. He was a great father figure for Aaron and Daniel. Joel worked hard and played hard and always expressed his love for his family circle and lifelong friends. I personally was grateful for his words of encouragement and honesty during our visits to each other’s homes.
Joel, I’m sure you’ll be pushing the “fun button” for eternity.
Cheers big guy 🙏🏽❤️🍸
