It is with deep sadness and heartbreak that we regret to announce the sudden passing of Joel Alan Hackett on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his home in Yorba Linda, CA. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 19 years, Diane Hackett. His 2 daughters, Allison (Dean) Hite and Lindsey Marks. 2 Step-sons, Daniel (Tanya) Fricker and Aaron (Lily) Crosson. 8 Grand Daughters, 2 Grandsons and 1 Great-Granddaughter: Emily (Dan) Marino, James Cunningham, Lindsey Cunningham, Sadie Marks, Livi Marks, JT Marks, Ashley Fricker, Eliana Fricker, Andrea Crosson, Abby Crosson. 1 Great-Granddaughter Asa Marino.

Joel Hackett had a long and loyal history with Xerox that surpasses most in our business today. He was a master negotiator, visionary, entrepreneur, and brilliant businessman. He started his career with Xerox in July of 1969 when he graduated from Long Beach State and Xerox approached him at a business fair on campus. He started as a street Sales Rep, selling the Xerox 914 and with incredible success as a Top Revenue producer year over year, his career soared, and he made his way up the corporate path at Xerox. He held positions in LA South Branch, LA Central City Branch, Century City Branch and finishing as Western Region Major Account Contracting Manager in the Region office in Orange County.

July of 1989 Joel opened up his first Dealership selling Konica and RICOH with his HQ office located out of Irvine. Here is where his business paths crossed with Diane Hackett who became his right-hand woman, business partner and current wife of 19 years.

August of 1998 Xerox approached Joel with the Agent Owner Program and he and business partner Diane Hackett came aboard and started Q Document Solutions aka QDOXS. Diane and Joel started the agency with just the two of them and together along with their daughter, Lindsey Marks have built the incredible partner we know today as QDoxs. 24 years in business, a Platinum Business Partner, and a true benchmark partner for Xerox. Joel’s leadership, expertise and continued drive for success he was able to achieve his business goals defined by “Self-Sustaining business ……which runs while I am playing golf.” With the entrusted staff, each which was hand picked by him personally, they were able to make this happen for him. The QDoxs company which Joel built,  is a family within itself. We work together and play together sharing laughs always and will grieve together as one.

Joel was a devoted husband to his best friend and wife Diane Hackett. He was a loving and inspirational father to his beautiful daughters, Allison and Lindsey. Both daughters had the opportunity to work along side Joel during his 24 years at QDoxs Sales Agency. He was a devoted grandfather who made time to see and visit with all of his grandchildren often. Whether it was golfing together, watching them play football, volleyball, dance, swimming he was there to watch and cheer them on. He would make lunch dates with his older granddaughters to make sure he could see them each month and see how they are doing. He loved golf, martini’s and cooking. If you were coming to his house for a BBQ then he was behind the stove, preparing and cooking for days before, in preparation for the perfect steak or burger.

He loved golfing and would golf every Wednesday and Friday’s at Old Ranch with his group of friends whom he has known for decades. He would have a cold glass of beer after his round of golf and then wait for Diane to meet him at the club for dinner and wine with their friends. They did this on a weekly basis and was the highlights of their weeks. He loved fine dining and fine tailored clothes. Joel was always dressed to the highest quality and kept himself shaven and clean cut always. Shirts were ironed and meticulously put away and never a hair out of place. He was a mentor for hundreds of people throughout his life. He was a man who everyone admired. A man who everyone had the highest respect for and looked to for guidance in every aspect of life. He saw the roots of change before they were ever visible to anyone else and always led even when he was the only one who could see.

He was a man of his word and believed this was the foundation of a person’s integrity. He believed in what he taught and expected only the best from those around him. He led by example and did this in every aspect of his life. If you knew him, you remember him, loved him, respected him and will never forget him. He impacted your life in a positive way and he will stay in your heart forever.
