Joanne Eileen Williams, age 78, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at Assurecare Adult Family Home in Bellevue, WA. Born Dec 3, 1947 in Wilmington, DE, she was the beloved child of Jeannette E. (Oliphant) and Paul W. Williams, Sr.

Joanne was a free spirit who loved poetry, laughter, and animals. She cherished her friends and family, always interested in their lives and ready to listen with kindness. She was most at home in natural spaces, by the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean or under the great oaks of the Brandywine Creek Valley. Joanne worked as a graphic designer at Blue Cross Blue Shield Company in Wilmington, DE, and later as a property manager in Ocean City, MD. She moved to Minneapolis, MN, to live with her daughter in 2007 and then to Seattle, WA, along with her daughter's family in 2012.

Joanne was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Paul W. Williams Jr. and Terry H. Williams.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Williams-Nguyen (husband Hung Nguyen), and her grandsons, Luc and Ben Nguyen. She is also survived by her aunt Kathleen Holland, sister Donna Navarra (husband Bill), brother Chuck Williams (wife Karen), sister-in-law Jody Williams, sister-in-law Barbara Williams, and many nieces and nephews.
