Thank you all for the love and support. I would like to share the speech I wrote for those who did not get to make it but was there with us in spirit:

First off, I would like to thank everyone for coming today and the love and support everyone

has shown the family in this devastating time.

I don't think there is enough time or words to express Jesse's impact in the world.

Growing up, I was told that I did not say much until I was 3, and when I did, it was baby

mumbling so Jesse "spoke for me". I was told it was "she wants a Happy Meal from

McDonald's". My parents caught on quickly that, that was not what I was saying. But from

day one he was in my corner.

I don't remember much of it but there is video of all of us at the coast ...when Jesse was

about 10... I'm trying to run straight into the water and Jesse kept on pulling me back to

safety. Just always protected me. When Jesse was 5, I got a third brother in Brooks.

Between Jesse, Chad, and Brooks...I always felt protected. As siblings do, we loved each

other, but also, there might have been some bickering. The Simpsons were huge back in the

day, so Mom deemed us “Itchy & Scratchy.”

One of the many things that made my brother amazing, was how awesome he was to all my

friends. He was never mean to them, never made them feel unwanted...he was really good

that way, as we all know, younger siblings can be annoying.

As he got older, it was clear that he was pretty handsome...as I was told by many women

here today. Jesse worked as a bagman at the Alaska Airlines drop off and there was a

wealthy older women who flew frequently and would tip Jesse like $100 plus to get her bags

on the cart. It was that smile. We all know that smile.

Jesse was loving and good-natured, so it wasn't a big surprise when he stepped up and was

a father figure for Haley. It also wasn't a big surprise how absolutely excited he was to

become an Uncle. Jesse and I waited for the green light to come see Camryn and Haiden in

the hospital when they were born. We got to go into the viewing room together and I

remembered him being so happy. Later, our nephews Owen and Levi were born and Jesse

again was so excited to be an Uncle. He got out all his old toys and gave them to the boys.

Another amazing thing was how much Jesse loved the animals. He was the best “dog-Dad”

and “dog-Uncle.”Marley, Jack, Tuff, Cash, Nora, Ollie, Momma, and all the rest. He loved all

of them.

Jesse was a son, a friend, an uncle, a nephew, a father figure, a partner, a tree farmer, a

jokster, a Duck, a neighbor...but most importantly...a brother and a good man.

Sobella Family,

Jesse always had a happiness and brightness about him that was infectious. He had an amazing love for life and wanted to make everyone smile and be happy. From our time on the soccer field as kids in Eastwind Soccer League, and as we grew up, Jesse had a way to lighten life and he shared it openly with others. He will no doubt be very missed by others as he was so inspiring to many through his happy go lucky attitude. Jesse blessed us all. I feel so thankful to have known his spirit. It is a memory that will never fade.

I love your family,

Steven asked me to share this here. We miss him everyday ❤️

My sweet Jesse. You were too good for this world. For 16 years, you were my best friend and my family, but you were more than that. You were better than blood. You were my rock. My cheerleader. My voice of reason when I had none. My soulmate, whether we were together or not. We talked all day, every day. You always supported me, never judged me, even when I was wrong. With you, I could be my truest self. You had a mind full of wonder, no one knew more about plants than you. You could talk for hours about the stars and planets. You should have been a professional rock skipper, and you were an expert mushroom hunter. An incredible snowboarder. A patient teacher. The wittiest person I’ve ever known. Your one liners were unmatched. The animals adored you, and you loved them right back. Even though you were allergic to cats, you were the best cat dad. You always worried about my happiness, that’s just who you were. Pure love, never asking for anything in return. Life threw so much at you, but it never made you cold. You laughed it off, always finding joy. You had the best laugh, the best smile. Even when we bickered, you’d giggle—because you knew life was too short to stress the small stuff. I took Ollie, Mama, Cash, and Marley for a hike the other day, and we saw you everywhere. You are everywhere. I know it. You still leave me messages, little signs, and they make me stronger. When I couldn’t find the light, you always found it for me. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I was so fucking lucky. It would have been your 45th birthday in May. Marley will be 15, Cash 10, and Leo 13. I always made the animals’ birthdays on your birthday because you hated celebrating yourself but you loved them. It gave me a reason to celebrate you. You were always so excited to give me the organic food you grew, and I was always excited to cook and eat it. Your food was love and medicine. You loved your family, and they loved you. You just knew how to love. Even in the end, you gave everything so others could have a second chance. That was your final gift, and it was beautiful. I still hear your voice in my head, in my dreams, telling me to be strong and keep truckin’ along.
