Meeting Jay for the first time — with Mike Terry (Jay's half brother), Georjean Terry and Jay Border
Jake, Jesse, Jimmy and family- I’m very very sorry to hear of Jay’s passing. I have so many memories of the days on Big Sky and our motorcycle trips to the desert all packed in the big brown Ford truck. We had some great times! You will be greatly missed, God bless you my friend! Tom Reynolds

I was one of Jays nurses when he was at the Heart Hospital, I discharged him after he got his LVAD put in...when I heard of his passing I could not believe it! I am so sorry for your loss. He was truly one of a kind.

Jay was one of those patients who left a lasting impression on you, he always had me laughing or smiling whenever I went into his room. He was always so positive, which was pretty impressive after having had such a major surgery. I would have to say to this day he is my favorite patient... definitely one who made you grateful for what you do. I really enjoy being a nurse and people like Jay just make it that much better... when you see all the progress they make, and despite the tough situation he was going through he made the best of it. Going into his room just to chat a little throughout the day was the highlight of my day. The day I discharged him to rehab I teared up when I was hugging him goodbye- most patients you send home and don't see them again, fortunately that was not the case with him. We would often email from time to time to check in and say hello, he would let me know how he and his family were doing, I would update him on my life, or wish one another a happy holiday.

I am now at the Heart Institute, so I got to see him every so often when he would come in for check ups. Which just made my day to see his smile and catch up in person for a few minutes. My husband and I recently had our first baby so Jay would check in and wish me well, I unfortunately was not back from leave in time to see him his last office visit, but I am so grateful for the times I did see him.  I am sure I was not the only person here who had Jay as their favorite :) He will forever be missed and never forgotten! <3 I will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers!

Prayers to his family at this difficult time. I have many great memories of Jay and all us cousins playing tag in his pool as children. I will miss his inspirational sayings on fb .  He had many happy years with his family .

Sincerely loved from

Jay was a friend. How do you say goodbye to a wonderful friendship? It's darn hard! I wanna remember him this way, on a 4 wheeler or a bike with wind in his hair, and grinning ear to ear. RIP Jay-Bird. Sending my deepest condolences to family he absolutely adored, and everyone he helped through the LVAD program. The cowboy touched many hearts. See ya later kid!
