Hi, I am a friend and fraternity brother of jimmy's. Firstly, from the bottom of my heart I want to say how sorry I am for your loss.
Secondly, I wanted to also share how Jimmy positively impacted my life as he did with so many others.
My favorite memories with Jimmy come from the many hours we spent together working the hotdog cart at innis free. I remember sitting out there outside of the bar for hours cooking up hotdogs, laughing with friends who passed by on their nights out, and socializing with all students on campus as we worked.
In particular my favorite memory comes from a night where we were not that busy and a student and their dog walked by the cart. That dog just didn’t want to leave the area where we had put the cart for that night. The dog kept turning around as his owner tried to keep him walking away, pulling back hard against his owner to get closer to our operation. Jimmy could tell he wanted some food and asked me if we could just give one of the hotdogs away to him. I also being a dog lover said absolutely and Jimmy pulled one of the fresh hotdogs off the grill and fed it to the dog whole. We laughed as our new fury friend ate the hotdog in what appeared to be a record time. I mean that dog had to have ate the whole hotdog in what appeared to be 2 bites lol. I still remember our laughs from those long nights and cherish my time getting to be around Jimmy's unique and special personality. I think this is one of my favorite stories and memories I have with Jimmy because it shows in such a raw fashion the type of person Jimmy was. Caring, compassionate, funny, smart, driven, and most admirably to me… hard working. We worked from 10pm to sometimes 3:00am some nights and he always did it with a smile and a great attitude.
I will forever miss his undeniably inspirational personality that was always around the house, campus, and my daily life. He continues to inspire me to be better in all aspects of my life and particularly in my walk with Christ. I find my self angry with God in this time, wondering why such an amazing man could be taken from us so soon. So many questions and so many doubts all at once, and I know Jim would want me to trust in the lords plan. I truly believe he is smiling down at us and watching over everyone in his “Wolfpack”. I cant wait to see him again one day and know he will welcome me as a friend and brother with open arms, along with that same big smile I remember seeing so often.
While I am not as close with Jimmy as some of the other guys are, being the pledge class below Jim, I felt it was important you know how much of an amazing person your son is and all of the happy memories I made with him. I was always happy to see him and he was always happy to see me. Praying for you and your family in this difficult time❤️.
With love, Connor Walsh
