Grace always shared scripture during our encounters and was always ready with words of encouragement. This poem written by our dearest first Pastor’s wife nearing her end of time on this earth that reminds me of Grace’s anticipation to see her beloved Saviour.
Afraid of What?
Afraid to see my Saviour’s face
The one who saved me by his grace?
To talk to the saints of old,
As we walk down the streets of gold?
The Shikinah glory will shine everywhere,
With wonder and bliss and joy share
In singing praises to Jesus the King,
With hallelujahs the heavens shall ring!
To see my spirit release and sore?
For pain and suffering will be no more.
No dark glasses now to dim my view.
The Saviour’s hand will make all new.
With tenderness and love, my sorrow flies
To meet my loved ones gone on before,
A joyous reunion forevermore?
We’ll all sing praises our hearts in one accord,
To Jesus our Master, our King and our Lord
Immortal, incorruptible and free from strife?
So I’ll welcome death as a sweet friend.
Afraid to die? No, not me.
Not since Jesus set me free!
