Grace Lydia Johnson was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, great great grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She was called home by her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2023 at age 95.

Grace was born to Sidney and Florence Luttman on August 25, 1928. She attended Sharon Bible School in North Battleford, Saskatchewan before meeting the man of her dreams, our dad, James Johnson, while at Clayburn Camp near Abbotsford.

After a very short six week whirlwind courting, the two were married and went on to have seven children. Mary-Lou, Betty-Lou, Victor, Esther, Gordon, Pauline and Clifford.

Grace loved being Jim’s right-hand girl. Always there to pass a brick, hand a nail, hold a board, stand on her head... whatever was needed to help dad.

As a homemaker, Grace raised her children to understand that the Lord must be first in their lives and that everyone and everything came after Him. She taught by her example in every day living, the reading of God’s Holy Word, prayer and showing love towards others.

Grace played piano beautifully without being able to read music. Our home was a place of love, music, singing, bible reading and prayer.

Grace was predeceased by her grandson Bill, granddaughter Tammy, great grandson Andrew, great great granddaughter Lexy, Father Sidney and Mother Florence, brothers Bob, George and Sidney, and Sisters Claudia, Diane and Louise.

Grace will always be loved and honoured in the memory of her husband James and her children and their families. Her children include Betty-Lou and her husband Tony, and their children Tony and Richard, Mary-Lou and her daughter, Honey, Victor and his wife Leah-Ann and their daughter Cie and Victor's son Jeremy, Esther and her husband Ross, Gordon and his wife Yvonne and his children Tiffany, Marilyn and Jeremy, Pauline and her children Victoria and Darren, Clifford and his wife Shirley and their children Chevy and Michael. Grace is also survived by ten great granddaughters, five great grandsons, one great great granddaughter and three great great grandsons as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1 pm on November 18, 2023 at Grace Community Church, 12240 Harris Road in Pitt Meadows, BC.

In lieu of flowers, we extend an invitation for you to donate to the Children’s and Youth Programs at Grace Community Church. Ministry to children and youth had always been near and dear to Grace's heart.
