Dearest Millard and Che:  I know it has been what seems like a lifetime since we have been in communication but I gasped and  my heart sank as I just learned of Gabe's passing. Please know I am thinking of you and of all of your loved ones. I know he was a special soul and was loved by so very many kindred sprirts.

2012, Island of Lanai
Gabe’s Birthday Campout….. that one year when Gabe planned a birthday camp out on the island of Lanai and only invited women. There were about 20 of us ladies and we all had no idea about his clever plan until we arrived. Of course we made his mermaid fantasy come true in the sweetest most loving manner. He loved every minute!

Gabe gets into another deep conversation, this time with his niece at Kitt Observatory. That's another thing I loved about Gabe - he related on a lot of levels and always would go on the journey with you. Happy Birthday, Gabe. Actually in The Netherlands it's cool to congratulate the extended family of someone on their birthday. So Congratulations to Gabe's friends and family on Gabe's 52nd Birthday. :)

1991, Stinson Beach, CA, USA
For Gabe’s Birthday in 1991, we left Berkeley in Brian Michael’s Toyota and Gabe, Sam and I headed to Stinson Beach for the day. We solicited a 12 pack of beer in Stinson and enjoyed the sunniest day in the history of Stinson. Sam got hit by a wave swallowed his dip and puked all over the beach haha.  We found the nude part but were unimpressed. We smoked a joint and took a nap. We ended up back in Berkeley at sunset with the worst sun burns at Cal.  I can’t remember a better day.  Happy Birthday Gabe.
