Dear Luz,

I have chosen to have trees planted in memory of Elmo. Elmo was such a kind soul and I can see him smiling down on these trees that will benefit the earth for years to come. I hope you like it too, Luz.

I continue to pray for you, Errol, Eric, and Jennifer, that you find comfort in trusting in our Lord’s goodness and mercy, that Elmo is in a good place. May memories of Elmo and the love of family and friends surround you and give you strength in the days ahead.

17 years ago when Uncle Elmo and Auntie Luz together with Uncle Al & Auntie Carmen, made my eight-year-old-self’s only wish come through, and that is to crown as Queen during the popularity contest in our school. I was the happiest at that time because I got to experience the feeling to be crowned and to be called as “Her Majesty Queen”. Until now, I still cannot believed that Uncle Elmo is gone. He was so kind and humble. He was like a father to us everytime they’re here in the Philippines for vacation. There was this time also, when me and my cousin Mariel were still a little, he would always request us to sing and dance. And then after, he would give us chocolates and candies as a reward for making him happy and granting his request. His laughters will surely be missed. Those genuine smiles, brilliant advices, and good memories will forever be remembered. You will always have a special place in our hearts, Uncle. To auntie Luz, I offer my deepest condolences to you and your family for the loss of your beloved, Auntie. I know Uncle Elmo will always be there, watching you and guiding you from above. Sending you virtual hugs from Ph to LA. Rest in heaven’s glory, Uncle Elmo.
