It was with profound heartbreak that we learned of Elihu’s passing. We were honored to have Elihu as part of the Blue-Zone family for nearly two decades. He was a core member of our movement, an invaluable resource, clinician and leader committed to making the world a better place. Elihu was an asset in every way – kind, optimistic, friendly, loyal, dedicated, wise, tactful and, above all, fun to work with. Throughout our peaks and valleys as a young company, he set the ultimate example for our growth. The Blue-Zone team truly appreciated and admired Elihu, whether at work, at home or at play.
Indeed, while he was already a proud husband, father, granddad, Clinical Practice Leader/AA at Sunnybrook and esteemed instructor at the Michener – along with many exciting personal endeavors – Elihu never made us feel like his "side hustle". Far from it. He was fully invested in our dream too, and lived in the moment whenever we needed him. With his heart in the right place, wisdom to embrace new ideas and passion to make a difference, Elihu played an integral role in Blue-Zone’s success story. He filled our lives with joy and gratitude in equal measure. It is a challenge to find the words to express what all he meant to us.
Elihu, you are a legend who will occupy your rightful place in the sky as our North Star. We will continue to follow your lead and practice your lessons as we move forward. To Myrna, Melanie, Heather, Joshua, his grandchildren and extended family, please accept our most sincere condolences. We will miss Elihu dearly.

He was the soccer coach for both my daughter and son in Newmarket many years ago.
He was a very kind supportive wonderful coach and always had a smile whether the team won or lost.

I was so lucky to be able to work with Elihu in the OR at Sunnybrook over many years. He was always cool under pressure, a real asset, and a gentleman outside the OR. To his family, my sincere condolences.

My sincere condolences to your family on Elihu's passing. I came to know Elihu when he worked with my team on a research study for several years. He exuded calm and kindness, which brought comfort to our patients. During downtime he spoke mainly about his family and how much he was looking forward to spending time with them during his upcoming retirement. I am glad to have known Elihu. May his memory be a blessing.

My heart aches knowing that's this lovely man is gone so soon. I have known Elihu as a friend to the Hanson's family. Numerous intellectual conversations were shared with him. His presence and ability to listen and make you feel heard and understood. We lost a great one, but too soon. My deapest condolences to the whole the family.

I was blessed to have worked alongside Elihu for many years at Blue-Zone. He was at once a teammate, mentor, confidant and travel buddy— even roommate! — and the gold standard across the board. His kindness, authenticity and free-flowing laughter were such gifts to us all. My deepest sympathies to his beloved Myrna and family.
I hadn't seen him since I moved from Toronto years ago, but his influence never faded. At times of crisis I would often ask, "What would Elihu do here?" and the answer would light my path forward. The first step, of course, was to not see anything as a crisis. The same might apply today. He was "the ageless wonder" as a man, whose incandescent spirit will shine on as a beam of goodwill for always. Thank you for the memories, my friend.

However, I continue to pray that you and your family find comfort and peace during this time of grieving. I pray that Elihu is resting with Jesus and that his memory fills many hearts with joy! Love you lots, my sister!

My nephew, Elihu was a loving, happy, father and grandfather to his family. In the words of the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, I say, he was a great man - "Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind is, Footprints on the sands of time." May his children and grandkids follow his footsteps, until that great getting up morning. Peace be his rest.

I met Elihu at Scarborough General in 2004 and immediately recognized that he was a very ethical person who commanded everyone’s respect as a human as well as clinician.
The opportunity came about to join him at Sunnybrook the following year and I jumped at it without a second thought. He managed our small group of OR Respiratory Therapists with constant support and nurturing to make it a very tight knit group committed to excel at our metier and play off each individual strengths.
Elihu put considerable thought in nurturing staff, and students of all sorts, as well as an integral part of the operation of everything OR and anesthesia related.
I cherish the time we had working long days and remember fondly the constant laughter that was a daily occurrence every time the group was together.
Personally, he was pure enjoyment to work in conjunction with. We always gave one another space when working jointly and it always felt like a collaboration .
I was very shocked and saddened by the sudden news, having met him 2 weeks prior.
I send my deepest condolences to Myrna, Joshua, Heather and Melanie (whom he spoke of constantly most days) and family.
