Dear Lydia and Family, You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved husband and father Dave. May your memories provide you with comfort during this difficult time. Sincerely, Robin Middleton
I so enjoyed hiking with Dave. As we walked along a trail there was always something he would teach me or something to laugh about. I loved the way he used painters tape to tag what day he would wear his clothes. He taught me to use my hiking poles so put less pressure on my joints. Tangerines were always apart of our snack list. We both loved the Grand Canyon so much. He was so special in so many ways.
I have such fond memories of Dave! He would always get a kick out of how silly Lydia, Renee and I were when we would go over to Lydia's house for an event or to go somewhere. Dave had a great sense of humor and was a gentle and a kind man. May he live on in our hearts.
I often visited with Dave when Lydia, Karen and I met at Lydia and Dave's house to start out on one of our adventures. Dave was always hospitable, kind and quietly, yet immensely, intelligent and interesting. On one such visit, after Dave shared what were the many intricacies /complexities of his occupation, Karen and I responded to each fact with, "That is so fascinating!!!!" After that visit, we always referred to Dave as The Fascinating One. I have been blessed to know Dave and admire him for his love of family and friends, his dedication to our environment, his limitless gentle pervasive humor, his intellect, and his devotion to Lydia and Liz. Rest in Peace, my Friend. Renee Ripps
I’m so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Lydia and family, friends and relatives. He was a kind and humble man who gave much to our world.
