Background
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider directing resources to one of these special causes:
CHADD provides resources, education, and advocacy for children & adults with ADHD, including teachers and parents. The impact of this support for many families like ours, touched by this condition, is significant.
Rainforest Action Network (RAN) "preserves forests, protects the climate and upholds human rights by challenging corporate power and systemic injustice through frontline partnerships and strategic campaigns." Lisa and the kids donated to RAN previously…Lisa donated to RAN as a child. Anyone who knew them knew how dear animals were to all of them, and this organization works to conserve and protect endangered animals.
-MEarth operates 10-acre habitat adjacent to Carmel Middle School, with a 1-acre organic garden, a culinary classroom and native plant habitats. The California Native Plant society also has a plant nursery there. The gardening, cooking, and habitation restoration work is an integral part of the middle school science program. Lucy and Leigh both did volunteer work there, as well as attend a couple of summer camps. Ben loved the Red-Legged Frog habitat there. Contribute to Rainforest Action Network
