Betty was born February 1, 1935 to Harry Henderson Hovis Jr. and Esther Marie Feiler in Houston, Texas. Betty grew up in California where she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Working at a local hospital she quickly caught the eye of an ambulance driver, Socrates John Nicothodes (Nick). Shortly after the two met, they wed and began a family. In 1957, their first pregnancy ended in a premature delivery and birth of a set of …
