I met Becky while she worked for the Leadership Department at Andrews University. Becky was a gifted writer, beautiful, loving and charming person. I am so saddened that she passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. May God strengthen you in this time of sorrow.

“Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs shall hear His voice, and shall come forth, those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life (John 5; 28-29).”

Getting ready for the interview on February 25.

We loved Becky as a daughter❤️

She was an exceptional lady - full of life, questions and  interest in people,!  She had a razor sharp intellect and was fun to be with!!   We are heartbroken.

What a wonderful, strong and courageous woman, mother, writer, teacher, wife, friend!  I’m so sorry to hear of your loss!  Becky was a very talented, special soul and I’m thankful to have known her for the time I did!  She was a blessing to your family and I’m sure she’ll be missed. May her love for each of you continue bringing you peace and comfort always!❤️
You both demonstrated such courage..and her grace and wisdom that she was willing to discuss in the midst of her trial was inspiring.  Thank you for being willing to share the journey of such beautiful love. Prayers for peace for you and the family.
I only knew Becky from her Facebook page, but I was filled with admiration by her courage, wit, and strength of character in the last months of her beautiful life. Her passing makes the resurrection an imperative.

We met her at Newbold College. Becky's awareness and attentiveness to others was hard to miss. She was simply different, thoughtful, engaging. And while our encounters were often brief, they were genuine. She was a rare gift, and we (along with many others), will miss her presence.

Our love to you and your boys Japhet.

The greatest educator I’ve ever known. The world has lost brilliance today.
Japhet, we are heartbroken for you and your boys. We were so blessed by the podcast you and Becky did, your brilliant minds and beautiful hearts.  I'll never forget your kindness to my brother in law Ron.  You truly emulate the love of Jesus to those of us lucky enough to know you. Longing for heaven along with you.  Much love, Marc and Jill Stickle
My favorite artist is De Grazia. Once when visiting at the De Oliveira home in Michigan I noticed that she had a print and I just mentioned that I loved the artist. Later when I was ill Becky surprised me by showing up and gifting me the lovely De Grazia Print. It has been hanging in Kenley and my home ever since! I was so shocked that Becky remembered my comment in passing during many of our visits to their home. I was actually always commenting on something she had hanging one her walls because I loved how she decorated.
We were able to visit Becky at The One Place church during Covid. Becky said she was coming to see us soon as she enjoyed Northern Michigan. Sadly, her diagnosis was
just a short time later. We miss her already.

In response to "When was the last time you spent time with Becky?"
Becky was beautiful, talented, and smart. Yet, her greatest gift was that she made you feel like you were special ever time she interacted with you. Your world was always better for being with her. Just like the Jesus she loved. We are praying that you can feel Jesus holding you extra close during this time.

I wish this was my most memorable moment between us captured on Camera.

But how can you capture the dog eared books I returned to you because you never wanted me to buy a replacement no matter how much I battered them? You’d say “that’s how loved books are meant to be”, even though your bookcase always looked pristine.

Or the articles of mine you so gently proofread and edited for me days after the deadline. It’s probably too late to blame it on the ADHD. But you never got mad at me for my tardy magazine entries.

A camera couldn’t capture the stories you’d tell me about going to the Pastor’s wives retreats that would have me in stitches and agreeing that we probably wouldn’t ever quite fit in and that that was truly a great thing.

We could have taken photos of ALL our meet-ups when you came to London. The lunches in town, the walks in the parks the hurried conversations in churches before you were whisked away for some lunch or other.  But it is what it is. And I’ll carry all those memories and those images in my heart instead.

And even though I know you’re not editing this, I bet you’ll find an error or two you could make good. And if you did, know that I wouldn’t mind at all.

Love you so much.
