On Tuesday, April 18, we lost an irreplaceable person in Zain.

The hole that is left will never be filled, and at a time where there is very little to say, the only thing that seems right to share is Zain’s own words through his poetry and writing, which will be a permanent source of comfort to us all.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Zain Syed on April 18, 2023. Born on August 25, 1990, Zain lived a life full of love, learning, and laughter. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Syed; his mother, Denise Buscemi; his father, Ashraf Syed; his sisters, Samarah Syed, Hannah Syed and Raeah Syed; and his brother, Zakariah Syed. Zain was predeceased by his sister, Nylah Syed.
