One afternoon some years ago when Warren was still a sitting judge, I was talking to a woman who was telling me about her morning in court. She and her exhusband had gone before a judge to settle a custody dispute. The woman went on to say that the judge had cut through all the drama and histrionics, and handled her case with so much fairness and common sense that she was amazed. She said, "My faith in our judicial system has been restored, and I will tell you, it has been waning." I asked, "Who was your judge?"  And the woman answered, "Warren Donohue."

Judge Donohue could not have been a better boss. He was always courteous to litigants and attorneys who appeared before him. He was so kind, thoughtful, careful, and made it all look effortless. Will always remember him whistling away while walking down the hallway to chambers and the gleam in his eye when telling a good story. Sending many prayers for the family.

I am very sorry to learn of his passing. In the early seventies he and I talked about sharing offices. We never did but we continued to stay friends. I have wonderful memories of him at lunches, bar meetings, watching him perform in bar skits and serving with him on the Circuit Court. All the Judges had been friends before ascending to the bench and each of us was there for all the others. There was a camaraderie that many courthouses never have known.

My daughter, Karen, who is now a Judge, clerked for him and what he taught her about the law and seeking justice has been brought to her courtroom. So his influence and wisdom goes on into the future.

I am presently in Vero Beach and he, Michaela and the rest of the family are in my prayers. I will have a Mass said for him on theOuterbanks of NC when I return next month.  Vince Ferretti

Warren - Mr. Donohue, and all the Donohues were part of my childhood growing up on Bee Bee Drive. Almost 50 years later I remember those days with fondness and gratitude. Fond, because it was SO much fun. Grateful, because the love and friendships that existed on that street kept growing even after we moved away, and we all became so much better for having shared it.
I met Warren in Class 3A at MSJC in 1954. I did not know anyone in that class and Warren made a point to make my acquaintance.  I became part of a group that included Warren, Tom Hitselberger, Jack Gegner, Vic Dragon and Ed Zepp, and known to some as the ST Joe five.  Some of us would impose on Warren at the record shop where he worked in Edmonson Village.  There were always females hanging around too so we always used that reason to bug Warren.  It's a wonder he did not get fired.  He was also in my wedding in Wilmington, NC in 1962.  He will be sorely missed.  I was proud to be his friend! Condolences to Michalea and his family.
My condolences to Warren's family. I first met Warren when in Class 3A at Mount Saint Joseph HigWarren at the record storeh School in 1954. and we would often see each other as part of a small group of fellow classmates Jack Gegner, Tom Hitselberger, Vic Dragon and Ed Zepp. We would often impose on Warren at the record store in the Village where he was a female attractor. He was also in my wedding in Wilmington, NC in 1962.  He was a gentleman and a scholar, and I was proud to be his friend.

"Ralph", that's  what Warren called his dog in Maryland.  Only, Ralph wasn't the dog's real name. Moreover, the dog was female. Emblematic of Warren's humor and personality.  Loving and missing him forever.

Brother Jed

May perpetual light shine upon his soul and may he rest in peace.

Love and prayers from your Heart's family

Dear Aunt Michaela, Michael, Kathleen, Mark, and Brian,

Our hearts are with you at this very sad time, as they have been through this wrenching journey that has been the end of Uncle Warren’s life. How I wish we could be with you in person now, and on Friday.  I remember him as such a kind soul, deeply thoughtful, considerate, and loving.  Our deepest condolences to each of you, and to your families. With love, Sharon

As we grew up living so far away from each other I remember the true excitement when Uncle Warren, Aunt Michaela, Michael, Kathleen, Mark and Brian would visit Massachusetts.   I love and am so proud of my Uncle Warren.  He was beyond funny, oozed confidence and was simply brilliant in my eyes.  I am sincerely saddened by our profound loss at the same time relieved he has found peace.   I love and miss you all!  Karen Leavey Coito

Warren was such a class act! We loved his joy in music, song and whistling; and his jovial, intelligent, insightful, compassionate nature. We met him through Michaela in their later years in Chevy Chase, and will treasure our memories of our few days with them both. I had a second lovely visit to their Burlingame home, and am forever grateful for having gotten to know Warren even a little. Our condolences, blessings, and love go out to our dear Michaela, and to the rest of the wonderful extended family.

Michaela and family,  I was hoping this day would never happen but, alas it has.  Warren      had such an energy about him. He was just a  delight to be around.  I remembered from the first time I met him when I was dating his brother Jed how caring and wonderful  father he was.  He was so into his children.  I will miss his singing and how wonderful he was.  You all are in my prayers.  Love Marilyn

Dear Aunt Michaela and my dear cousins,

I do not have better words than those written in the obituary. Great sadness tempered somewhat by the relief Uncle Warren’s struggle is over.

He was always upbeat, intelligent and confident. A man comfortable in his own skin. So enjoyable to be around. My mother told us often how much she loved and admired him. “He was always happy. Whistling down the street wherever he was going.”

I won’t be able to be with you all in person, but I am with you in my heart.

There isn't a friend in my life that has meant more to me than Warren. We "grew up" together in Maryland as neighbors and as young fathers. We played sports together (the famous Turkey Bowl of Thanksgiving) and basketball against the neighborhood teenagers. We sang and played guitars for our families and friends. And we always looked forward to our Friday afternoon martinis. My love goes out to Michaela and all of the Donohue children, who were as my own.
My thoughts and prayers have been with the family for many years of Warren illness. He was so special to all of us and enjoyed the many occasions that we were together. He will be missed and remembered always. ❤️ PattyD
What a wonderful man we have known! Early in my law practice, in a difficult case, I attempted to pull a fast one on opposing counsel.  Warren calmed the waters, with the admonition of “work together- it’s good for the practice!”
Judge Donohue was such a great guy and a terrific judge.  Was good friends with his son Brian (who was the spitting image of his father) and worked with his son Mark for a few years, who was a fantastic attorney.  My condolences to the family.  He will be greatly missed.
Deepest sympathy to Michaela and family on Warren's passing and all the Donohoe families. The light of "Heaven" to him  . An absolute gentleman always and wonderful company. Rest in Peace Warren. Thinking of you all at this time.
