I was shocked to hear this news. Mr Totty worked with my husband Malu Omeonga before his passing in Feb 2013. Malu enjoyed his relationship with Totty, who gave him vision as his assistant coach. Totty took Malu under his wings and allowed him to learn so much about coaching at Clayton State. I post this in Malu's memory and my condolences to the family. Totty was a good man!
REST IN PEACE TILL WE MEET TO DEPART NO MORE. THOSE DAYS WILL BE REMEMBERED ESPECIALLY CLAYTON SOCCER PITCH. WHERE YOU HELPED MORE THAN YOU HELPED YOUR SELF. BYE. IF I CAN, I WILL START TO REWINE BUT I CAN NOT.

T.O.,

My big brother. Not a day goes by that I don't hear your voice saying,

"Yoooo Chrissss, Zuuuly, Leeeeahhhh."

I will be forever greatful to GOD for giving me a big brother who selflessly not only looked out for me, but also advised me and always insisted giving me food off his own plate- even when I told him I ate already. T.O.  thank you for believing in me and trusting me to give me  my start In College Soccer. I will be forever indebted to you for that. Thank you for always looking out for this Yankee  who couldn't never do a thing right in GA- his new world. I still laugh and hear your voice regularly saying,

 "Yo Chrissss!"

"It's not you, it's juussst your cultuahhh shoccck that youuuuu are suferrrring frommm!"

Imagining hearing your voice, your amazing accent, and your unique incredibly unique way of putting things always brings a smile to my face! Whenever I picture you I always see your incredible smile, and to this day I still always picture you in those great suits and ties of your's. How you wore those Suits and ties when it was 1000° outside in August in Atlanta I'll never know!

 T.O.,

I promise  every time I pass a Golden Corral that I'll go inside, eat and sneak out some extra Rolls with Butter and give them to someone in your honor! Even if I have to pay for them I'll do it.

I know right now that you're  in GOD'S HALL OF FAME IN HEAVEN . I also know that when GOD greeted you he said,

"Well done my GOOD and FIATHFULL SERVANT!"

In Heaven, save me a seat at your table T.O. You have my word that I'll bring you those GOLDEN CORRAL ROLLS- with extra butter! I'll also make sure that that your brother Ike,  Coach Rootes, all the guys, all your favorite Girl "Playazzz," and of course   Zubie,  are all there!

Love you T.O!

Your little brother in Christ,

"Yooooo Chrisssss"

So sad to read about Totty's death. In Port Harcout back in the day at UST, he was an absolute gentleman.  May his soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.

Mike Ok Amuzie

Totty was a great guy. In the two years I played with him what stands out to me is how different his personality was on and off the field. On the pitch TO was a combative tackler and intelligent  player that always made sure to get a piece of your foot coming out of a tackle. Off the field he was an incredibly kind, caring and supportive teammate.  I'd like to extend my condolences and prayers to his family and friends during this most difficult time. RIP TO

Totty was the ultimate warrior on the pitch.  One of the best teammates anyone could ever of dreamed having.  T.O. arrived to campus with an aura and legend associated to him.  His huge smile and happy demeanor would disappear when he stepped onto the field and he would go to war for his brothers.  For three years, I knew he had me covered.  God like speed and grace, he was amazing to watch play.  As a leader, he brought awareness to us all about his culture and as a young person I always looked forward to his lessons.  Wise beyond comparison, I enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with him when we were not practicing, training or playing games.  Rest In Peace my friend!

TO was, and always will be, a class act. Heart of gold, smile that lit up a room. I remember (think it was senior year) TO sitting in the training room in the ice bath up to his chest for his pulled/torn groin (I think) every day for weeks. Others have already commented on TO not liking the cold, but even in the ice bath for treatment always smiling. I also remember the 90+ degree preseason morning runs with TO in gloves, hat, full sweatpants and sweatshirt trying to stay warm while everyone else was sweating.

Thanks, TO, for always... being the man among us boys, expressing yourself in no uncertain terms, showing us how a good life is lived and doing it all with your signature smile. I'm honored to have been your friend, and I wish I'd seen more of you. You'll be sorely missed, TO, and fondly remembered as one of the finer human beings a person could know. Bless you, brother, and Godspeed on your journey!

A very motley crew...

Incredible memories of our wonderful college days, everyone here has demonstrated how close our team was.  All of us from very different parts of the globe to bond and make wonderful friendships.

We had a very close team which was the key to our success.  Totty was a super person, always smiling and expressing wisdom that was always positive.  Very intimidating and a force to be reckoned with in the center of the field.  He traveled far, as with Ike, to explore and take on a new beginning with all of us here at NHC.  He learned a lot and taught us a lot.  To see how he had succeeded and help others in this great game of soccer is a testament to his character and the love of the game.

As we all know, time flies by as we all get caught up in the paths that life deals to us.  I certainly wish I could have spent more time with Totty.

I express my deepest condolences to Totty, family and friends.  Totty is and will always be a great person.

My prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends of Totty. I got to know Totty during his playing days at NHC.  He was not just a great soccer player, but more importantly, a great person. I always admired him.  Totty was a great teacher. He trained my son during the days of John Rootes's soccer camp. My son and all the kids loved him, and they all learned a lot.  It is no doubt that he took his love and passion of teaching to become an educator. He had a great smile and always made people feel special.  We were all blessed to have known him.  RIP Buddy !
Much loved team-mate and leader, always smiling and taught a very young version of me the the value of being thankful for what we have, RIP T.O xx
Totty  was nothing short of a role model for me.  I came to NHC having nearly lost everything and trying to pick up the pieces. He showed humility, determination, joy, and an enviable ability to be comfortable in his own skin. Every day I was with him I wondered how he did it and how I could follow him.  So I say, what he often said, "Thank you, sir"
