Thomas Neal McNamara, a long-time resident of The Tamalpais Marin, Greenbrae, California, was called home on October 10, 2022. Mr. McNamara (known as “Neal” by his family and many friends) had attained age 91 at the time of his passing. For some six decades, Neal lived in Marin County, much of it in residence at the family home known as the McNamara Ranch on Lucas Valley Road, San Rafael and later in Napa County.

Update from Nov. 29, 2022

We’re looking forward to your arrival! A bit of advice: parking in our neighborhood can be wicked – if you do not find a space near 501 Via Casitas, please go to the Tamalpais Employee parking lot. It is located on the cross street Via Holon about halfway down the hill. There will be a Tam employee available to give you a ride back up the hill. Call 415-461-2300 reception for help.

No memorial events are planned

We are very sad to announce that the memorial for Neal has been cancelled. The Tamalpais has 3 COVID and multiple influenza cases at this time and we have been asked to cancel the event. We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause those that had made travel plans. Unfortunately the decision is out of our control. Thank you for your kind notes and memories of your time with Neal.
