Thinking of Syd today, and of you (Peter and Margot). Remembering her voice, her laugh, her monster curiosity about the world, and her love for you two. 💜
I miss you Syd.  The world is just not the same without your kindness, your friendships, your sense of adventure that thrilled us all, your love of horses, and your constant ear to listen to those around you.  Always seen and always heard.

In 2012, I had foot surgery, which made me nonweightbearing for three months. Syd helped me a number of times get out of the house by pushing me in my wheelchair down a very steep ramp and then took me for various outings.

Take 2 . I lost the first message .

I just want to say I miss Syd a lot and think of her often  .Today I realized how much we laughed a lot about everyday things and what a fun , comforting gift that was with her . I was thinking this week how young we were when we became friends .She was 27 and I  was 28 . Being the Midwesterner that I was , she explained some Easy Coast ways that were helpful to me  .  We once spent a few hours , driving back from a Maine summer trip in our single days . We spent a few hours laughing our heads off  about old sayings and what they really meant . She came forth with one I never heard of .." He who lays down with dogs is sure to rise up with fleas ." Maybe not PC but we made it  homemade fun  in a long ride home .  I think most people knew that side of Syd and how easy it could be to start laughing about most anything .

I also think of you Pete and Margot as you journey on . The  Boston Marathon run you completed Margot was wonderful .Seeing you for a short time  pre race and then the photos with Pete and your Aunt  later in the race was touching and great !!!!

I think her spirit is still around looking over people here on Mother Earth . Loving remembering her 🌹.

Matt and I had booked a hardcore birding trip for three weeks in Peru.  It was expressly stated to our guide Omar that it was to be just us.  Imagine our disappointment when he picked us up from our hotel in Lima and told us we were just detouring to pick up two other people.  Our hearts sank and we felt cheated. Enter Syd and Lynn.  Fast forward two weeks and I was begging them to stay on for our third week.  Two of the most fabulous and interesting women I’ve ever met.  In the second week of our holiday Syd gifted Matt her birding jacket.  It was incredibly generous of her and will remain a cherished and treasured reminder of her.  I regret not having more hugs with her.  My biggest regret is not seeing her again after that holiday, but we thank her and Lynn for making it more special and more memorable.
Margot and Peter, The celebration of life you organized was beautiful. Not only did we learn many details about Syd's delight for life... starting when she was a child, but it brought people together who had never met before, to share memories and celebrate Syd. Sending love, hugs and sincere condolences. ~ Nancy

Sharing our love of nonpareils! — with Penny Lazarus

My time with Syd was short, but she left a long impression on me and my work as a Social Worker. I think of her often as I continue to work in an office we once shared.

My thoughts to her family and dear friends.

I am hope I can watch a video of the service today, as I was not able to attend.

Syd  was a wonderful, smart compassionate person who left a light with everyone she met. She cared  deeply  for animals and also importantly, the people loved them.  Her bright light will continue in the kindness and courage she imparted to others.
Peter and Margot  these photos are so beautiful. Syd was always smiling, such a kind warm caring person and I think about all the lives she touched  during  her life . She made the world a better place♥️

Dear Peter and Margot,

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Celebration of Life event. I will be out of the country, but I will be there in spirit. Please know that my love is with you, and I hope that the day is filled with Syd's spirit and love.  Gosh, I really miss her so much! Love, Theresa
