I was so sad to learn that Sue had passed. She was a good friend. We had lots of fun when we were living in Florida. Went to many Tampa Bay baseball games, went to LasVegas, went to many restaurants together. I'll never forget the joke she told, "How Nice". I can still hear her voice, with her mock southern accent. No one could ever tell that joke better than her. Suzanne & Carl visited us once after we moved to Georgia. Suzanne helped me with my father when he was with us in Florida, teaching us some relaxation, meditation and visualization techniques that were very helpful as he went through the treatments. She was a wonderful person and friend. May she rest in peace.

Suzanne was one of my bestest friends. We met working at KMA Dermatology. She was always laughing , smiling and had the energy of 12 people. She taught me many medical things that I didn't know. It kinda perturbed me that she was so much smarter than I. One day, a patient called her "Dr. Sue". That stuck. From then on, I always called her Dr. Sue. Til we meet again, Dr. Sue. Miss you, Nurse Ratchet Gilley.

I was an only child growing up in a small town, but I was lucky enough to be “taken in” when I was feeling lonely by my grade school best friend’s family of two brothers and a sister. As a Smith on Walnut Street, Sue was like my second mom: putting up with us rowdy kids late at night playing Atari, trips in the family station wagon to the mall or even the drive-in. I remember many times packing all of us kids in your car for the drive to school if we missed the bus. And only you, Sue could convince my mom on a very hot day to volunteer working the beverage cart at Fort Meigs for the Perrysburg athletic invitational. Yes, I even cherish the little things like many sleepovers with a Chex cereal breakfast and that big bowl of sugar nearby…..
But as an adult, I got to enjoy Suzanne in Florida as a Metoff: all of those tasty rock shrimp get togethers at the Windrush, strolling through the Cocoa Beach art festival during many Thanksgiving weekends, a very memorable day at the beach to see Bo Diddley on the sand and even offering to be a designated driver taking Suzanne and my mom for a night out on the town in Orlando to see ZZ Top.
So long ago Sue, you became an official member of my mom‘s Bunco crew, as during the summer months, there was usually more drinking and swimming in our pool then actual bunco played. Ha! But seriously, there’s no doubt you saved my fathers life in the after hours, as your trained profession of being a nurse helped guide him to the emergency room when he was having a heart attack. Suzanne, with all my heart, I send out thoughts of everlasting love as I will always remember and miss you and especially your delicious homemade enchilada dinner nights. Rock on, Girl and may you find eternal peace out there on your next adventure…..

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your mom. My thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with you and Carl during this difficult time.
I had the pleasure of getting to know your mom back in 2018, along with your dad. The two of them together always brought joy to the office, and we still fondly refer to your dad as the "New York FBI agent" and your mom as "nurse Suzanne."
I remember the time when your parents first walked into my office, and it turned into a memorable experience. The owners of the Brewery next door were out, and your dad, with his characteristic humor, showed his badge and asked if they knew a Lori Sorenson. After some hesitation, they acknowledged that she worked there. Your parents' visit resulted in a great time spent writing the home and auto policy.
The next day, the Brewery owners asked if I was okay, mentioning that an "FBI agent" had spent two hours in my office. We had a good laugh when I realized they were referring to your dad, who they found quite serious. Since then, I've been asked daily if I'm behaving myself.
Your parents brought so much joy and laughter to our workplace, and those memories will always be cherished. If there's anything I can do to support you during this challenging time, please don't hesitate to let me know.
