Updates

Update from July 31, 2025

Dear Friends and Loved Ones,

Sue’s celebration of life is just two short days away, and we are looking forward to gathering with all of you to honor and remember her in a way that truly reflects her spirit.

This is not meant to be a somber event, but rather, a light-hearted, heartfelt celebration of the incredible woman Sue was, the life she lived so fully, and the many beautiful relationships she made along the way. We ask that you come with smiles, open arms, and cherished memories to share.

For those driving, parking is available at Nuʻuanu Congregational Church for the service. There will also be valet service at Oʻahu Country Club from 4:30 pm for your convenience.

Please join us for food, drink, and fellowship at O`ahu Country Club, immediately following the church service. RSVPs are optional, so feel free to come whether or not you were able to RSVP. We want to spend more time with you, and since Sue was truly a “connector” of people, we would like to honor that by providing an opportunity for everyone to get to know one another.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the endowment fund that will support the Susan C. Hirano Cancer C.A.R.E. Community. https://giving.uhfoundation.o…

See you all on Saturday to celebrate Sue's life with the joy, warmth, and love she brought to all of ours.

With aloha,
Peter Hirano and family

P.S. No t-shirts or ripped jeans, please, as per O`ahu Country Club’s dress code.
