Heartfelt condolences to Don and the family during this truly awful time.  I'm part of the Over40Alpha workout brotherhood, of which Don is a valued member. News of Don's injury and Susan's passing sent a shockwave through our online community. You are all in my thoughts.
Susan and I taught side by side at Sunset Elementary.   She was a kind and caring individual.  Her faith was ever present and shown through her love for others.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn Susan’s death yet celebrate the beautiful life she lived!

My heartfelt sympathies to the Burkholder family. My father, Irven Ediger was a good friend of your Dad, through our Buhler Mennonite Church membership.  He was so honored to have Bob as a friend.

Susan and I were in the same Sunday School class, and she was always so very kind to me, as she was to everyone. I  graduated from Moundridge HS in ‘71, and have tried to stay in contact via FB with the crazy blondes and red head,  from that BMC  SS class.

Susan may you rest in the arms of Jesus, and may He comfort you all 🙏🏻

Sincere condolences to the family.  Susan was my cousin, the daughter of my first cousin Anona Burkholder and the granddaughter of my Aunt Ida.  I don't remember ever meeting her or her siblings, but we heard about them through Aunt Ida.  It sounds like she was a wonderful person and a big loss to all who knew her.

I’m so, so, sorry for your loss! I’m praying for you coach!

I can still remember the first time Susan came into the Union Valley office as a new teacher to U V, wearing a red dress. Her beauty & personality impressed me so. She was so kind & caring. My deepest sympathy for the whole family.

Audrey Bornholdt, retired UV Secretary

A shocking loss which deeply saddened us.  Susan and the entire Burkholder family played such a formative role in my life growing up in Buhler, and has been such a compassionate blessing for so many in her life, our hearts ache for the entire family. Susan modeled all her life the love of Christ for those she knew. We feel deeply your loss and please know the entire family is in our thoughts and prayers. Love in Christ,

Roger & Joyce Peckover

Sharing in your sadness and remembering how easy your mom was to talk to. She has the gift to connect with others. I'll always remember how Susan looked on Garrett and Brooke's wedding day. Thinking of y'all and sending love.
I was privileged to teach with Susan for many years at Union Valley and even had Brandon in my kindergarten class. I never knew her to be anything less than gracious and kind to others. She set a wonderful Christian example for her students and coworkers, and I had such respect and admiration for her. As you mourn this loss, I am praying that God overwhelms your entire family with the peace, comfort and strength that only He can provide!
Aubrey, I am so sorry for your loss. I have such wonderful memories of your whole family growing up, playing softball together, and living in Foothills. I am praying for all of you! - Kari (Poulain) Oglesby
May the good Lord wrap HIS arms around you and your family at this time of loss for comfort and support.  Cherish the memories.

My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.  I’m so sorry.
We learned to know Coach Cameron during his second stint as Newton High School Boys Basketball coach while our son played Junior Railers and JV basketball. Also during their time in Newton, we were so blessed that Susan was our youngest daughter's first grade teacher at Sunset Elementary. We loved and appreciated Susan so much for her kindness and care-- she was an amazing teacher! Our family is heartbroken for Don and the family, and we're praying for their comfort and peace, as well as Don's complete healing and recovery. 💔🙏
My condolences to Susan's family. I first met Susan when we taught together.  I would like to offer this prayer for my friend and her family.  I thank you, Lord, for giving me such a wonderful true friend.  You knew how much I’d need one, and You knew just who to send.  A true friend who was always there with willing helping hands.  A shoulder I could lean upon and a heart that understood.  Bless Susan’s family that God will touch her family with his healing hand and give you the comfort and strength you need to get through.
Susan was a WONDERFUL person and OUTSTANDING teacher. It was an honor to work with her as her principal.  We also lived on the same street..prayers for strength and comfort.. Randy and Jan Roberts
I was so shocked to hear this sad news.  Susan and I worked summers during college at Hutchinson’s Prairie  Dunes Country Club as waitresses.  We became fast friends and had such fun those summers.  She was truly a sweet, kind, and caring person, and it sounds like she never changed.  We ran into each other years ago at a summer sporting event for our kids - always  had hopes to get together again.  My condolences to DC and all of her family, and my thoughts and prayers remain with you all.   ❤️ Cathy (Raguse) Werling
I am so sorry to hear this news. I worked at Fairmount Elementary school. Susan was one of my good friends there until she retired and I still kept up with her Facebook and talk to her now and then sad situation. Such a good Christian woman. I am so sorry for your loss. I send hugs and prayers for you and the family.

Susan and I taught together in Newton before they moved. Her kindness and enthusiasm with teaching was a blessing for her students. I will miss this Godly friend and pray for her family.
In response to "When was the last time you spent time with Susan?"
My heart is breaking after hearing the news. I'm praying for DC and the whole family.  What an amazing person Susan was.  I feel so lucky that I got to teach with Susan at Union Valley for so many years. She not only  was a wonderful coworker but a true friend.
