Stacey's obituary
Stacey Marie Evans, beloved mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away far too soon on February 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and pride.
Born in Oakland, California, on March 21, 1974. Stacey arrived with beautiful brown eyes and a curious smile, ready for the world. To the astonishment of her family, Stacey shared her inquisitive nature from the first moments of her life as she looked about, alert, even cooing to communicate almost immediately.
Stacey shared an amazing bond with her brother, Keith, and a close-knit childhood with her many cousins, fully engaged in school activities, family events, road trips to Disneyland, and her favorite things—good music, scary movies, and anything from the ’70s and ’80s.
Stacey attended Saint Paschal’s Catholic Elementary School from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. She then attended Skyline High School, graduating in 1992, and later earned a medical assistant certificate. During these years, Stacey blossomed in her independence, loving her first car and wearing out the streets of Oakland, often traveling across town to visit her grandparents, (the late John & Betty Evans, and Querida Primas), aunts and uncles, and hanging out with cousins and friends.
Stacey established her own home in Dublin, where she raised her son, Vincent (Vinny) Herrera. The early years were filled with his school and sports activities, where she volunteered regularly. Stacey showered Vinny with endless love and cherished him wholeheartedly—and he returned that love and admiration for her until her last hours. Stacey and Vinny shared a very special relationship and a love for music and movies that would bring them both many hours of chatter, laughter, and joy.
She had a special bond with her family—her Mom, Dad, brother, and son served as her rocks in this beautiful life they shared, caring for one another through every peak and valley. She holds a very special place in the hearts of each of her family members.
Stacey was known for her creativity. She made the best candles for gifting to family and friends or for special occasions. One could only hope to receive one of her latest creations, as each candle scent was unique and wonderful. She took writing letters, notes, and cards seriously—they were so special that many recipients still have every one she sent. She had a rare and beautiful gift for making people feel special.
Her strength and grace to endure life’s hardships are an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Through it all, Stacey was a beautiful, passionate and profoundly caring presence—someone who made life brighter and more joyful. She cared deeply, connected genuinely, and loved sharing a good laugh—many of those coming from her travels and the funny stories she would tell of her experiences. Stacey loved a tropical location, taking many trips with her dad to Hawaii, a very memorable family vacation cruise to the Bahamas, or simply fishing along local shores.
Stacey is survived by her son, Vincent, her parents, Keith (Lyle Brann) and Dolores, her brother, Keith Jr. (Cassie); her nephew, Keith III; nieces, Aundrea and Layla; along with a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Stacey’s generous heart and spirit, thoughtful presence, and ability to light up a room will be missed and always remembered.
