The Portage Inn was on my way home.  I had passed it many times, but on this occasion, a voice inside my head said: "Stop and say hello".  I pulled into the parking lot and I was wearing my gardening clothes as I had just returned from a job.  Sid came towards me and introduced himself and I said to welcome you to the neighbourhood, rather than baking you a cake, may I weed your garden.  Of course, Sid was surprised!  He asked when I could come back.  I said I would return in two days and try to fine the treasures which were beneath the grass and brambles.  To my delight and surprise, after the 1 ½ hours, Sid appeared with a book "The American Prophet"  written by Sid & Nancy.  20 years earlier I had heard of Edgar Cayce and had wanted to go to Virginia Beach and learn more about his life and work.  To my delight here was a direct connection to Edgar Cayce's work in this beautiful book.  I was thrilled that my husband and I joined Sid and Nancy on a trip to the ARE Congress the next summer.  So began a beautiful, lifelong friendship.

Sid was my brother, even though we had different parents, and were born less than 5 months apart. It's impossible to encapsulate a lifetime, but here are a few thoughts. Our first memories were of each other, and of our respective moms. The Kirkpatrick kids and the Tuttle kids were one family, growing up in two houses, next door to each other. Sid was completely fascinated by everything, and wanted to explore every backstory, and he often saw beyond the facade, with empathy and compassion. He was always inquisitive, wise beyond his years, thoughtful in every sense of the word, and probably the kindest human that most of us will ever know. When his mom passed, his parents visited me in a dream, and I told Sid what his father told me in the dream: Sometimes we can see their reflections.  I feel like Sid is exploring the next plane with great delight and wonder, and would dearly love to tell us all about what he's found there. And I am keeping my eyes open for his reflection.

Sending all my love to Sid's wonderful sisters Jen and Kitty, all his talented kids, and beautiful wife Nancy.

My good friend & neighbour, tennis partner & opponent, here in North Portage..l miss all those good times, as well as talking  books, music and films...  (perhaps not Mr. E. Cayce..not my cup of tea, l'm afraid)

Although he was a true city boy, he did seem enjoy and made the most of the rural, country life, in the short time he was resident here.

I did miss his company & our camaraderie, when he left...

..such is life

Thank you for sharing your wisdom through these books and for leaving these wonderful memories.

I thank God for having known Mr. Sidney Kirkpatrick. In a short time, I knew what a good human being he was. I had faith in God that he would recover his health, but God had a better plan for him, and he fought until the end. With this, I want to say that his soul and spirit live on in Jesus, and his memory lives on in our hearts. I know that God gave him the opportunity to be at peace with Him. Rest in peace, Sidney Kirkpatrick.

From Rosa Webster

I'm happy that I had the chance to see him when I was in California last year .His conversations and smiles and a very kind person and one of  those conversations I told him I love you very much and he replied I love you too, that's what family is for. I had a good time with him and he's in a better place and I will miss you. With love, your niece Naima.

I may not remember much, i was 10 years old when i first met uncle Sid at roatan, he was a kind and nice person, it would have been nice to meet him once again, may he rest in peace.
