After Lori’s father passed aw…
After Lori’s father passed away, we used our inheritance gift to book a once-in-a-lifetime Disney Cruise. We went in March of 2019 (Shannon was diagnosed in April of 2019). It truly WAS a trip our family will never forget! Please take note of the shirts made by Shannon – especially with the heavenly “Z” on each sleeve.
I posted a formal obituary on OH (Morning Journal), PA (Beaver County Times & Ellwood City Ledger & ellwoodcity.org) and FL (Loomis Funeral Home Apopka) online sites…but THIS entry is one I also wanted to share.

Shannon’s “sunshine” began before she ever moved to Florida. I just thought I would share some of my favorite memories. Please feel free to do the same.

Starting with the day she was born, Shannon’s “rays of sunshine” warmed the hearts of her immediate family: her parents, Lori (Zurynski) & Phil Wimer; her sister, Joni-Ann (who married Jonathan Pickerl); her brother, Jon-Paul (who married Christina High, with their children Alexander and Brianna); as well as her grandparents, Jane & Paul Zurynski and Lillian & Clyde Wimer; and her aunts, uncles, and cousins from Pennsylvania. Shannon’s “warming rays” shined brightest when she met her husband, Brian, and had three beautiful children: Braden [14], and twins, Sadie & Bryce [8].

Shannon’s passion for bringing sunshine also touched her church families in Ellwood City, PA at St. Agatha and Christ Presbyterian Church (Boar’s Head Festival); with her circle of school friends at Ellwood City schools (ECTV) and Beaver County Christian School (Cheerleader). She brought joy to her summer Performing Arts Camps (with dear friends Tim Smith & Christine Glover), and she won A Henry Mancini Musical Theater Award as “Best Actress” for her role as Fiona in Brigadoon.

Musical theater brought out an extraordinary spirit in Shannon - from her and from her friends. Her roles in plays like Oklahoma, Annie Warbucks, Brigadoon, and many Sunrise Theatre productions gave Shannon the opportunity to share her radiant love with her friends, her family, and her audiences. She continued to shine while attending Mount Union College (Ohio); with her students while teaching at Waterloo High School (Ohio) and at The First Academy (Orlando, FL). And, Shannon also found the energy to spread sunshine to many three-year-olds at C.C.C. (Children Christian Center in Longwood, FL), as well as with her Apopka (FL) baseball “families,” and, with all of those with whom she shared her celebration of life through her business “Sunshine Yard Party.”

Shannon’s radiant smile and her glowing personality ALWAYS embodied the “Sunshine in Life”! It’s an understatement to say she will be truly missed! Write to me (her mom!) at lori_wimer333@yahoo.com

Shannon was and still is, a ray of sunshine.
I am praying for the family for comfort this holiday season, and beyond.
Your NM family will be attending in spirit and wearing yellow in her honor.  Several of us have the shirts which we will be wearing for sure.  Sending you love, light and healing!  ❤️

May our lord, our savior blanket you all with his love, peace and comfort during this most difficult time.
Our family is heartbroken for your family. Shannon put up the most amazing fight, as was faithfully revealed in your many updates. She is now safe & at peace with our Lord Jesus Christ. We will continue to pray for strength & peace for your family over the coming days, weeks, months & beyond as you mourn her passing. 🙏🏼❤️
