Seth was a fierce warrior, both professionally and personally.  He reminded us all everyday to drive harder, to live life to the fullest, to appreciate everything you have and never ever waste a day!

On reading back on some of his emails from his adventure on the PCT, I found this quote from one of his last post at the end of the trail.

Seth-

“It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.” - Steve Jobs

“I’m leading off with this quote for three reasons. First, I’ve just finished listening to the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson (a good listen that tracks closely with my memories of Apple & Jobs from “Oregon Trail” til now). Secondly, I’m so close to Canada and I’m already feeling nostalgic for the sense of adventure I find on the trail everyday. Thirdly, I feel like I’ve lost so much time with Sadie, Owen, Joanna and Tucker that I can’t wait to get home.”

Seth inspired so many of us to challenge the status quo and continue to drive to be better everyday.  His incredible stamina and drive to set out to complete the PCT wowed us all.  Despite falling down the side of the mnt and seriously injuring his arm he drove on.  “He didn’t come all this way to give up”. I know it was a sacrifice for his family and they cheered him along the entire way.   They knew for Seth this was who he was.  He said he was going to do something and by dam he would accomplish it!!  Even on the trail he made it a point to stop and spend time with his family! They enjoyed incredible adventures together during those 5 months.

His love of his family was alway first.  He treated my best friend JOJO like the queen that she is.  So incredibly happy to be her husband their love story never wavered.  Those people you look and say to yourself “my god love stories do exist”. Soulmates through and through.  He was so excited to share his love (fishing and the mnt cabin with his kids). Even JoJo was falling in love with it up there. He loved his adventures with the kids traveling around the world.  I absolutely loved that they cliff jumped recently as a family!!

The comfort I have is the memories they will always have with this incredible man.  The life and experiences he provided and helped foster.  He has given us all a blueprint of what life should look like.  Never be afraid to set a goal or have an amazing adventure.  Understand the most important thing is your friends and family.  Cherish the time you have and never waste an opportunity to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.

Seth your spirit will always follow us and we will never forget the lessons you have taught us and the memories you have shared.  We love you and will always be here for your family.

I was so deeply sorry to hear of Seth's passing. He was a remarkable and lively individual who had the ability to bring joy, wisdom and laughter to everyone around him. I greatly admired his quick wit and his zest for life. It was evident that his love for Joanna and their children was at the core of everything he did. I extend my sincerest condolences, love, and prayers to Joanna, their children Owen and Sadie, and to his entire family during this difficult time.

Theresa, Mia, and I are heartbroken to hear of Seth’s passing. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Dear Joanna and Family, Please know that we're so sorry to hear the sad news about Seth.  Our condolences,  peace and love to you all, Christie and Jim Snow (friends of Francie from the walking group)

I first met Seth when he was at LogMeIn whilst in London. We were partnering with them. Instantly Seth made an impression, he had a huge character and energy. Seth understood people and built meaningful deep relationships. His team adored him. He asked me one day how things were going, and I explained we were making small steps of progress every day but that it was hard work. He said "little victories Mark", as a way to describe a mindset of constant improvement and daily progress. It really resonated with me and I've used it many times since. That was Seth, he made a lasting impression on me and taught me a lot about how to build teams and culture.

I was like everyone devastated by the news. Sorry you didn't get to carry on in the world Seth. You were a bright light and a kind soul and you have been taken too soon. You will be very badly missed. Rest in peace my friend.

So sorry to hear of your unexpected loss. If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.
Seth was a high school friend of my late wife, Tania. This video is from her celebration of life held August 2022. In light of his tragic passing last week, it is amazing how he spoke of realizing life is short and to make the most of today.  I am so glad he was able to do just that, and I am in awe of all he accomplished and the number of people he impacted.

so sad to hear the news!  my heart goes out to the whole family.  he was a family friend in the 1970’s- 1980’s

We are heartbroken to hear of Seth’s passing. He was one of my brother’s best friends growing up, so I knew him when he was young. He lived (on our dining room floor 🤣) and worked with with us out in Boston after college. He was hilarious, warm, spontaneous and kind.  The king of drunken midnight basketball and snowy foot races.  Seth will live on in some of the best memories we had in our young adult lives.  Our hearts and thoughts  go out to his family.

Love,

Tim and Robin (Weber) Fernstrom

I will always remember Seth as an incredible human and leader. One so full of life, often wearing a big and sincere grin, and with a hugely positive energy he brought to everything he did. My heart goes out to Joanna, Owen, and Sadie for their unimaginable loss. Seth--you will always be remembered fondly.

My most sincere condolences to Seth's family and everyone feeling his absence. Since meeting Seth three years ago, I still remember his infectious laugh, positivity, and overall zest for life. Seth would write these amazing emails, I've saved every single one. The emails were one example of his inspiring lessons, personal anecdotes, and a reminder that we all are human. To me, they represented what type of leader and person he was and I only hope to emulate his gifts one day.

Rest in Peace

We got to meet Seth in 2016 when he was with Wrike. It was through his direct support and trust in our young startup that we were able to shape the company we have grown into today.

Joanna, Sadie & Owen we hope you can find some comfort in knowing how widely your Seth was loved and respected. We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from him.

Claire, Tracey and the WNDYR team

I was devastated when I heard the news of Seth's passing. Seth was the one hiring me into Wrike and has that way marked my professional career. My condolences go to his family and friends.
Seth, thank you for being such a beautiful, funny and sassy leader who lit up the lives of so many people.  You were my co-extravert and I adored you for this!! You'd walk into a room and all of a sudden the party could start.  You are a magnificent energy giver....and I feel your energy from the skies above - you are a starburst that continues to sprinkle your magic on the world.  Thank you for being you.  Hugs and forever love...JJ xx
Seth was a great friend!!! Im so glad i was able to meet him in 1993… He was so much fun to hang out with for 4 straight years.. You will be missed my friend..  Praying for the family…
Even though I didn't report directly into Seth at Airtable, he was the kind of leader who inspired even those outside his team to rally together in order to produce incredible outcomes. I appreciated that despite everything on his plate, he was willing to listen and was genuinely curious to seek the perspective of others. I'm grateful to have met someone like him and can only hope to be as impactful in my own career one day. Thank you for sharing him with us!!
