By law, after autopsy, only immediate family members may attend a natural burial.

There was no program.

We viewed, touched, kissed her face and the reality of her death. We sang together and apart. We sang a couple of rounds of Row, Row, Row Your Boat for Remy. We fed the soil with yarrow stalks and our blessings for Samantha silently. We threw and pushed and softly shoveled soil over Samantha's body and bid her farewell, each in our way.
