Roy Poblete, 60, of Long Beach, CA, passed away on January 28, 2023.

Roy was born on July 15, 1962, to Francis and Irene Poblete in San Diego, CA. The Poblete family moved to Carson where he spent most of his youth.


In his youth, Roy was passionate about fast cars and DJing. Between 1987-1991, Roy fathered 3 children, Lauren, Roy Junior (RJ), and Ryan. 

Roy started his own commercial HVAC business, Cerritos Refrigeration. He specialized in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning and had a soft spot for helping his family and friends. 

Roy was an adrenaline junkie and settled into surfing. He taught his three children how to surf amongst many others. Usually, he was the loudest in the lineup and maybe cut off a surfer or two... but somehow you could never stay mad at him. 

Roy was truly a light in the room. He could get a laugh out of anyone and made everyone feel comfortable. He possessed a down-to-earth charisma. 

Instead of flowers, Roy would want you to express your love to those you value. Please join us at his favorite beach remembering his memory.

March 18 at 8:00 AM: Celebration of Life / Spreading of Ashes / Paddle Out at Seal Beach Jetty
