Ronald's obituary

Ronald Payne Angles, 88, of Cape Girardeau, MO, passed away on October 23, 2022. Ron was born on October 21, 1934, to Elza and Inez Angles of Fostoria, Ohio. He was one of nine children, including a twin sister who died in infancy. Being reunited with his twin sister was a lifelong yearning. He studied education and music at Olivet Nazarene University where he met the love of his life, Ruth Joan Wilhoyte, also a music major. They married August 1, 1958, and had three children, Ronald Mark, Julie Maria and Kent William. He loved peanuts, Petoskey stones, and jigsaw puzzles, which he loved to frame and display. These puzzles are now our family's wonderful treasures! In recent years, his nearly constant companions were two precious little dogs, Pup-pup and Molly, who lived with him and his daughter, Julie. In his earlier years, he taught middle school history and later was vice principal and principal in Grand Blanc and Atherton school districts in Michigan. Ron was passionate about good music. He had a trained and beautiful tenor voice. He especially loved pipe organ music and could often be found with his music playing loudly from his office or bedroom. Ron was a believer in Jesus Christ and served as minister of music in Ottawa, Illinois; Howell, Michigan; Flint, Michigan; and Fort Myers, Florida. Many wonderful memories surround the annual Easter Pageant, which he directed for seventeen years at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene. However, his greatest legacy was the love he had for his family. He was a devoted husband and father and his family meant more to him than anything else in the world.

Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Joan Angles (Wilhoyte), his parents, and seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by three children, Ronald Mark Angles (Charlotte), Julie Maria Cruickshank, and Kent William Angles (Tiffany), as well as nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many other beloved family and friends.
