Robin's obituary

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share the passing of our mother, Robin Weseen. She was the best mother boys could ask for, a treasured wife, a deeply loved grandmother, a committed daughter, a loving sister, and ‘the best’ friend. She peacefully left us on December 13th, 2023.

Mom was born in San Francisco, California to Phyllis and Mort, lived a life rich in love and devotion, touching the hearts of everyone she knew from the west coast to Chicago. Her early years were marked by cherished moments with her parents, especially the times spent horseback riding along the coast, which likely sparked the love she had for her dogs.

Mom’s heart was first and foremost with her family. She shared a deep love and unwavering bond with her best friend and husband, Mike. Together, they raised an incredible bunch of boys: Nicholas, Michael J., Thomas, Derek, Michael W., and Mom held a special place in her heart for her son Nick, who is now reconnected with her in heaven.

The daughters she always wanted, Natalie, Erin, Sam, Mary, and Stefanie, along with her treasured grandchildren Callie, Winnie, Robert, Margaret, Audrey, Charlie, Boyd, Mavis, Mia, Bella, and a nugget on the way, were the source of immense joy and pride in her life. They each experienced the depth of her love and the warmth as she “loved them to the moon and back.”

“Bo’s” bond with her sister Tracy was a source of comfort and happiness and only grew deeper with time. Her Chicago friends were an extended family, a bond we hope to continue.

She once told us the only job she ever wanted was to be a mother (then grandmother). While she was the best at that, she grew to be a loved figure at Hale Elementary, where her spirit, warmth, and passion for the library, her friends, and her students were always evident.

As we say goodbye to our mother for now, we remember her as a woman whose life was entirely unselfish and centered on her family and friends. Her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience will continue to inspire all of us.

A celebration of Mom’s life will be held on December 28th at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila’s Catholic Church and post-church celebration-of-life will be held at Michael’s in Carson City. We also plan to host a 2nd celebration of her life in Chicago this spring. More details to come.

Mom’s spirit and love will be deeply missed, but we’re committed to having her memory live on in ourselves and her grandchildren. On that, feel free to share a memory below or text us directly.

We love you mom.
