“The most beloved professor” was taken on my sophomore year teacher’s day in Hannam University.
It was the year I’ve been luckily chosen to be his assistant, friend, and Bob family.
He was the most famous and beloved professor ever in our department. He taught English, but in the classroom what we learned from him was the love.
He truly loved his students. He welcomed them with a warm and bright smile and often invited them to his home. Thanks to his kindness and dedication, many students were able to cherish special memories from their university life.
I was personally deeply encouraged by him during my university life. Whenever something happened in my life, whether happy or sad, I would go to Boffice, a space he kindly shared with everyone. No matter what I was going through, he would always greet me with a smile and a big hug. I would never forget his love.
The room was in the far-right corner on the second floor of the Department of Education building. The door was always open to the students. No doubts that many other students also found comfort, encouragement, and warmth in that room, just as I did.
I would also like to share some random memories of Bob.
Everyone knew that he was a coffee lover. Every morning, as part of his routine, he would make coffee with three spoons of ground coffee, Starbucks of course. We called that little coffee spot “StarBob’s.”
Bob also had two cats, Eppuni and T-Bob. T-Bob had long white fur, and sometimes, when Bob wore dark-colored clothes, anyone could tell that he was a cat person.
He enjoyed surprising people, and we loved joking around with him too. Once, we sneaked into his office without telling him and surprised him with a big “Wow!”
Lastly, he loved his family deeply, especially his daughter and grandchildren. He loved talking about them and was always happy to share family photos and videos with us. While he was in Korea, he always missed them dearly.
I have so many memories of him, and each one remains deeply dear and precious in my heart. His big smile and warm hugs will always remain in our hearts.
Thank you so much, Amber, for sharing this page with us. Please accept my deepest condolences. My heart is with you and your family.
