I knew Rick a long while back when he lived in Grand Junction.  I’m extremely sad to hear of his passing and send my (late) condolences to his family.  We shared a time back then, … softball, a yellow jeep, and lots of wilderness exploring.  The West was a better place with him in it.

What a lovely tribute. I am honored to have experienced it. Sending a ton of love to Rick’s family.

This message is shared by Kathryn Weber-Karp, a close friend of the family.

“I have known Wendy & Rick since I joined the Hidden Valley babysitting co-op over 30 years ago. Wendy and I thought it would be a good idea to meet weekly to practice self-care, which we still continue to do as our schedules allow. Rick supported this because he liked Wendy to be happy, and she would come home in a good mood.  He would always greet me with a smile and talk a few minutes.

He was a very intelligent, capable person. He took great pride in whatever he did, winning trophies for golf, being sought out as a consultant after he retired from his career in water hydrology. He would learn something and then master it quickly. He took pride in being able to do things himself.

Rick loved his family and spoke of them with pride, helping them or anyone needing it at a moments notice.

Rick was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.

Rick, you left us too soon.”

We were stunned when we heard the news of Rick's passing.  Sincere sympathy to all of the family at this time of loss, and wishes for comfort in future moments of reflection.
It is with heartfelt sadness to hear about Rick’s passing! May the love, prayers, and the support of your friends comfort you at this time! With Love!❤️  Denise
