I don’t know what made me think of Rhonda today, but it made me very sad to learn that she had died. My husband Nolan and I served on the board at the Gathering Place. Boy did she make it fun!! I recall going to a fundraiser and Rhonda appeared with one of her eyes shut rather tightly. Of course, one asks what is going on with your eye and she regales in the story that she thought she was putting eye drops in her eyes. It turns out it was super glue. Many people would have stayed home, not Rhonda, dear sweet funny fearless Rhonda. Much Love to her family.

I was in total disbelief when I heard the news of Rhonda's passing.  So full of life and talent; had not talked to her since our 50th North High School Reunion.  Her sculpture of another beautiful classmate (who also passed from a terrible auto accident) just left me without words when I first saw it on North High Campus.  I was so happy she found love a second time around; I dated a cousin of her first husband, Tommy, while a Senior at North, but did not know Tommy that well.  What beautiful children and grandchildren.  Mr. McClure, please accept my deepest condolences.  Wichita North High Classmate '61, Rosanne Graham

Before she had started sculpting, Rhonda and I spent a couple of days in the Field Museum so she could sketch some of her favorite sculptures. A few days after we got back to Wichita we were having coffee and I spotted a sculpture in a wastebasket. I recognized it as being one she had sketched on our trip. I asked what it was doing in the trash. She said it wasn’t any good. After arguing a bit I said if she was throwing it away, I would like to have it. She said “it’s yours”. Though I also have her Every Woman bronze which I love, this discarded piece is my favorite.

My condolences to Rhonda's family. I attended North High School in Wichita, KS along with Rhonda. We were in the same graduating class in 1961. I am so proud of the statue she sculped for our graduating class. This is sad news for sure.

We met Rhonda when we bought our lot on Tournament Drive. Since then we have enjoyed getting to know her all these many years. She was so warm , loving and great sense of humor. Her generosity was evident when she dedicated a memorial tree to our meditation park ,A Sanctuary Center, in memory of her “Oh My Papa”.

Quite a special soul !

Corie, I am not surprised to hear what a vivacious, creative and dedicated artist and friend your mother was, given the daughter she raised. I wish I could have known her--you're doing a beautiful job of keeping her memory alive. xo
As I read all these wonderful tributes about this truly amazing woman I realize she made us all feel so special.  Rhonda's kindness and willingness to give propelled her statue way above that of many of todays great people.  She so loved her family and her friends.  The times and memories we spent with Rhonda are what we will all cherish as a gift from our dear friend.  I will miss and love you always.
Feeling so thankful that David and I had lunch with Rhonda and Jim in Tulum in April as it had been a few years since our last visit.  She truly was a very special lady!
My deepest condolances to the McClures and Vickers families. Mrs. McClure was allways a delight to see and made me feel so welcome in her Mexico home. She will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
I think of Rhonda everyday since the day I met her!  Her strength and will were far beyond exceptional. I will forever hold a piece of her in my heart. ❤️❤️

I haven't been able to begin writing a condolence, because I haven't been able to believe  that one of the most beloved women in my life has left so many of us  trying to find the right words to explain who Rhonda was to each of us. Everyone has their Rhonda, because she cared for each of us so individually and with such love. She mentored me through so many moments of indecision. She has laughed with me, cried with me and most of all made me feel like I was so important to her. As her friend, we all felt uniquely cared about by Rhonda. I truly don't know anyone who loved life more or celebrated it with greater exuberance than our Rhonda. I will always feel incredibly blessed that God put Rhonda in my life, through the Gathering Place, where I saw her amazing heart in action for the first time all those years ago. I will miss and love her always.

MY AUNT RHONDA...Bigger Than Life, Heart and Soul of Our Family!
I will always miss her humor, blue eyes, laugh, warmth, kindness, creativity, and her endless tales of adventures. A life so well lived, along with the love of her soul mate, Jim, she will remain forever in our memories!

The world has lost one of the kindest, most generous, and funniest people I know. Rhonda was Chair of the Board of Directors of The Gathering Place at a time when what we needed most was a leader that everyone wanted to hang out with, just to be part of the action. Her commitment to our members was without question, and her willingness to do whatever it takes was unparalleled. Rhonda changed a lot of lives. I count mine among them.  She was a glorious person, a treasure, and a friend.  Heartfelt condolences to all.

I knew your MOM thru Janie and Eddie Johnson.  The photos are beautifully chosen and bring lasting memories of your inspirational one of a kind, special,  and always upbeat creative MOM.

Rhonda made an indelible impression wherever she was.  She will be sadly missed...and.... memories linger.
