Funeral service celebrating the life of Rev. Edward Jones will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Apostolic Restoration Church, 108 WT Hemphill Dr. West Monroe, LA. with Pastor, Nathan Thornton, Rev. David Mixon, and Bro. Paul Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Winnsboro.

Family will receive friends for visitation 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.

Edward Jones was born October 18, 1939, and passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family in West Monroe, LA. at the age of 86.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvis (Bud) Jones and Ruth Massey Jones, brothers David Jones, Ike Jones, V J Jones, Daughter Rhonda Sue Jones.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 68 years, Peggy Hitt Jones; daughters, Shelia Goynes (Dexter), Tammy Mays (Dallas); Grandchildren, Robbie Crain (Rachelle), Thomas Crain, Jessica Thomas, Janet Stephenson, Lucas Mays; Great grandchildren, Anthony Crain (Macy), Gabe Crain (Angelina), Halie Thomas, Elijah Crain, Sophie Benton, Hayden Thomas, Hunter Benton, Julianna Crain, Adalyn Crain, Kason Benton, Owen Benton, Andrew Corbin and Luke Mays; Great-great grandchildren, Breylin Crain, Maiya Dupuy, Baker Crain, Westin Crain; Brother, Milton Jones; sisters, Pauline Roberts and Jeanette Cato; also survived by many special nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Rev. Edward was an Apostolic preacher who loved the message, loved to pray and had an active prayer life. He loved to preach sing and shout about it. He believed that Prayer Changes Things. He was a Cotton farmer most of his life and there has never been a man that worked any harder than him. After retirement he worked at Living Way Church in maintenance and All Phase. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, riding horses, raising and showing cows, gardening, landscaping. He was a fixer of most all things. Children were always drawn to him and loved him, and special notes by grandsons, Robbie Crain and Lucas Mays.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Winnsboro.

Pallbearers are Zeb Benton, Bubba Johns, Anthony Crain, Gabe Crain, Hayden Thomas, and Hunter Benton.
