I always enjoyed working with Ray he was a great inspiration for me and I miss his work which I was lucky enough to install

Nary a time goes by when I’m opening a hangar door and don’t think of Ray, as he engineered and oversaw the construction and installation of that monster mechanism which's has ever since, operated perfectly…

Chuck Asbury, and his grateful shoulders…

Our condolences to Raymond's family.  I met Ray thru my friendship with Zana.  While I did not know him well Zana always spoke of how intelligent he was and what a good man he was to her and her family.  And he was always kind and friendly when we met at Second Fridays and other occasions.  I'm sure he is a great loss to her and her family.  Zana you have our deepest sympathy.   Joy & Tony

The world lost a icon, Heaven gained an Angel. Fair winds and following seas Mr. Redden.

Memories:  Raymond and his sister Beverly were our/my favorite cousins.  (the Bruner clan had about 15) Twice a year Mom & Dad would load up the car, (47 Oldsmobile) without air conditioning, and leave in the evening for Loma Linda to visit cousins.  Larry and I would sleep in the back.

On one of these occasions Uncle Roy pitched a tent for "the boys" to experience camping out...we were about 9 years old and the adventure had us laughing and giggling for some time.  After dark, Roy came to the tent with a flashlight, told us it was time to settle down and get some sleep....and as an afterthought turned and said "oh by the way, the neighbors said they saw a bear in the neighborhood last night, but don't worry because they said they chased it away" and then he left!  Needless to say, terror reigned and little to no sleep would be an understatement

Raymond was 6 weeks younger than me,  he never stopped calling me his "older cousin"

Mr. Wizard will be missed not only by all his aviation buddies, but by a lot of wives who asked if Ray could fix their broken curling iron, hair dryer or toaster. Always with a smile....Ray would take non-flying items home to repair.

I had the honor and pleasure of being a longtime friend and airplane partner with Ray........his presence will truly be missed by all who knew him. Thoughts and prayers to the Redden family.

Ron

So sorry to hear about Rays passing. Kathi and I have wonderful memories of our time with both of you on PBS fly-ins.
Ray has been our loving neighbor and friend for almost 50 years. We will miss his mischievous smile , along with his ability to fix anything. The neighborhood will never be the same without him.    ❤️😘
