First favorite memory that was an early indicator I would love him forever...  on our 3rd date Ray invited me to his house to cook me dinner.  He assured me he was not a crazy killer and that his teenage son would be around also as chaperone.  After dinner we went in his hot tub and when we got out he couldn't find his glasses.  After looking for quite some time, we finally discovered that his Boston Terrier Angus had appropriated them while we were in the hot tub and chewed them up. I'm sure as payback for inviting a strange lady over to the house without first asking him for permission.  Ray looked directly at Angus and gently shook his finger and said in the nicest voice "That's a bad dog Angus, you shouldn't have broke my glasses".   It was so sweet.  :-)

Some memories just give you goosebumps.  Ray decided to ride his Kawasaki 400 home from Pullman to Wenatchee for the Thanksgiving holidays.  He reached Quincy as the sunset and he was freezing.  His face shield was also freezing over.   So, he pulled into a gas station convience store to get some anti freeze spray for his face shield, and warm up.   By the time he was ready to leave the road was covered in black ice.   He fell or nearly fell leaving the gas station, it was then he called home for a ride to rescue him.   Teresa and I drove to Quincy to pick him up.   He was cold and misrable and looking quite pale  a good part of the drive home until the car's heat thawed him out.  Once home safely we were able to enjoy Thanksgiving together before I shipped out to San Antonio for basic training.
Karen and family,
We are so sorry for the loss of Ray. We are all in shock and know how much he will be missed. You are all in our prayers as you navigate this.
