I used to remember her hilarious jokes all the time. Whenever she picked up me and Courtney from school and brought us home she would have freshly baked cookies in the oven.
I also remember her being a great wakeboarder when we went on the lake trips, laughing the whole time she was shredding the waves .
Her joy and humor was contagious. Such a light, always bringing positive energy everywhere she went.
My sincerest condolences Courtney. Sending much love to you and your family. 🩷

Megan, Courtney, and Shawn - My deepest condolences for the loss of your wonderful mother and wife, Rachel. Rachel was such an incredible spark of love and energy, and I left every interaction with her feeling better about life. I can still clearly remember her laugh from down the hall of the Duke dorms and from across our apartments, and I always looked forward to her visits with us because she was the MOST fun and always brought an incredible energy to our lives. I loved our chipotle and target runs with Rachel, because she could make the most mundane things feel like the most fun adventure. Megan, I love you so much and I am sending so much love to you from across the pond. My heart is with you Duffy’s, and I thank you for sharing your Rachel with me.

On a trip in Turks and Caicos with Shawn, Rachel, Kyle, Megan, Rob and I, we were celebrating a party in the streets there and Rob and I let Rachel in on the secret that Kyle was going to ask Shawn for Megan’s hand in marriage. Rachel got so excited and was so happy and started to run after to tell Shawn and we had to reign her back in, telling her she couldn’t be excited or he and Megan would catch on! Well we all know Rachel and the exuberant fun person she was, that was difficult! We got back to our place with everyone and we were all exhausted and Shawn was ready to turn in but Rachel was insistent that he stay up and Kyle invited him to go have a cigar at our little pool. You could tell he was done for the night, but Rachel pushed him to go anyway! The night was successful and keeping it from Megan was super hard for all especially Rachel! She was so excited and had to contain that beautiful smile and “wanting to share” the news! Needless to say, it all was a beautiful story that we became instant family and now we share a beautiful granddaughter, Maeve. I believe in all my heart that she will live on in this little girl who exudes happiness and smiles just like Rachel. We will miss you sweet Rachel and our love for you will always remain forever in our hearts 💕
