This quote from French poet Alphonse de Lamartine could have been written with Patrice in mind, "Sometimes, only one person is missing, and the whole world seems empty."   Patrice filled up spaces.  She was one of a kind...witty, smart, genuine, devoted, spirited, along with a strong work ethic.  She has given us so much to remember...from the descent to the basement home offices of Lincoln Tax Services, the candid admonition to the parish priest to speak louder, the stories of meeting her forever soulmate, Peter, the home garden, along with the annual reminders to increase investments.  There was never a need to turn up the hearing aid when Patrice served as lector.  Although we wish we had more time with this special person, Patrice lived her days to the fullest.  We are sure she is now holding Peter's hand while holding court with Fr. John.

So sorry to hear of Patrice's passing. She was such a joy to go to have taxes done. She did  my whole immediate family taxes for over 30 years.  She always wanted to have conversations about what was going on in our world.  Such a wonderful women and feel very fortunate to have known her. We know how hard it is to lose such a great mom grandmom and so soon after your dad, but know they are reunited together again.  Thinking of all of you.Tessie Gladhill

If anyone could bring joy to tax time it was Patrice. I am a retired Bible professor and my wife, Susan, was pastor of Middletown United Methodist Church, where Holy Family held some of their services until their building was built. In addition to doing our taxes Patrice shared with us a deep commitment to the church. She always insisted that I have an evening tax appointment so that we could talk as long as we wished about the Bible, the church, occasionally about golf, and anything else. I loved these times in conversations with her, and she was exceptionally knowledgeable about clergy tax returns as well. I am deeply saddened by her passing, but I know for certain there was great rejoicing at the heavenly gates when they welcomed one of their true disciples home. Bruce Birch

I was "working out" at Curves, when all of a sudden a tornado flew in the door, almost closing time as well!!   Yep, here came Patrice.   She told the story so much better to anybody that would listen as to how we became friends!   Her Mother had just passed away and she was so down in the dumps.   She told me this as we went through the circuit together and thus began a great friendship!   We worked out together and took walks.  We even went to Charlestown slots one time.   Patrice had fun just waking up ( but not too early, unless she was headed to the airport).    I was also blessed to be able to help out for a few tax seasons.   She asked if I knew anyone that could help out a few hours during busy season and I said I would!   I had so much fun coming in after working at the health department and working for a few hours.   A few times after the clients were gone, we had a glass of wine or two to just talk and relax!  All of the office staff was so much fun and I really never considered it work, just lots of learning and meeting many folks.   From lunch and going to dinner with Pete and Patrice, we always had fun.   I have been blessed to have known and been buddies with Patrice.   We will miss her and I know that she is having a blast in Heaven.   A wonderful audience, new adventures and telling her stories to a "captive audience".   God has blessed Patrice and I thank God that he blessed me with knowing her.

I will miss the Joyful remembrance but know my heart will be with all of Patrice's family and friends.  I will wear a tye dyed  tshirt in her honor!
