Noah was one of my best childhood friends. Even when he was a kid, he totally accepted, embraced, and reveled in his authentic self. I absolutely loved being around him - the more "you" you were, the more Noah rocked with you.

We fell out of contact for several years, until we reconnected through Jiu Jitsu. Even after all that time, he was the same Noah. The very first time I saw him as an adult, we rolled together on the BJJ mats. He immediately kicked my ass, kindly showed me what I did to enable it, explained how to prevent it from happening in the future, then showed me how I could have exploited holes in his own game.

We then sat down, backs against the punching bags, and had the most beautiful conversation. He told me that he had never appreciated life more, and I knew he meant it. He was a true martial artist, son, brother, and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you reading this. I hope you can find the strength to accept yourself, unconditionally, and let your freak flag fly, because that's what Noah would have wanted. Thank you for reading this <3.
