Nathan Franklin “Nate” Klinner
October 13, 1960 – April 9, 2025
Nathan Franklin “Nate” Klinner passed away suddenly on April 9, 2025, at the age of 64. A devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, and dedicated servant to his country, Nate’s life was marked by honor, selflessness, and integrity.
Born on October 13, 1960, Nate was the proud son of Lt. Col. Enzo Franklin Klinner, Jr., Ret. US Army, and Betty Jean Giles Klinner. He was preceded in death by his father, whose values of service and strength Nate carried throughout his life.
Nate faithfully served in the United States Coast Guard for 21 years, rising to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. His exemplary military career was distinguished by unwavering leadership and commitment to duty. Following his retirement from active duty, Nate continued to serve his nation as a Special Agent with the Coast Guard Investigative Service, both in military and civilian roles. His passion for justice and mentorship led him to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, where he shaped and inspired the next generation of law enforcement professionals as a Senior Instructor and Program Specialist. He retired from federal service in 2022, having left a lasting legacy of excellence and dedication.
Nate’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Lisa Klinner; his children, Holly (Ronnie), Jeremiah (Kimberly), and Matthew (Shaina), his cherished grandchildren, Chloe, Kaden, JJ, Louden, Jasmine, Odin, and Claire; his mother, Betty Jean Klinner, and siblings Jeff (Sylvia) Klinner, Gina (Mark) Colbert, Amy (Jim) Reilly and a host of nieces and nephews. Nate’s life was rich with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
