Molly Hall — you were dynamic and headstrong. If it wasn’t fashionable, if it wasn’t fabulous, it wasn’t for you. Your smile was big. Your laugh unforgettable.
You lived life big and bold — a queen of finance — and you never stopped surprising me with new interests and talents. From learning to play guitar, to your eclectic, beautiful taste in fine art, to your love of ’90s grunge music… to shredding waves from Malibu to Oahu.
And during your LA days, a signature pop of pink was a must. Whether it was a stiletto or a glass of rosé… pink always made you happy. You can take the girl out of UCLA, but you can’t take the Pi Phi pink out of the girl.
In every city you ever lived, you crafted a lovely and stylish home — always with a beautiful guest room, welcoming me for a weekend stay. Many fun nights out were followed by talks on the couch — sometimes laughing until we cried, sometimes crying until we could breathe again.
I’m so blessed to have ridden many of life’s waves with you… and some actual waves, too, in Waikiki. Over these last several years, we didn’t see much of each other, but you never drifted far from my heart.
There’s peace in knowing you’re at rest now. And I hope you know, fully and forever, how deeply loved you are — by your circle of friends, and by everyone lucky enough to have known you.
Beloved Molly… just like one of your favorite songs says:
“Look at the stars,
look how they shine for you,
and everything you do…
yeah, they were all yellow.
I came along
I wrote a song for you And all the things you do And it was called, "Yellow"
….Turn into something beautiful….
And you know, you know l love you so
You know I love you so”
Forever in peace & always lovable. Your friend -
Julie
