I just found out that Michael had passed and i was shocked. I worked at Optimer back in early 2000 and Michael was the CEO. I was working there part time as a student. Michael was so kind and treated me like family. My condolences to Tessie, amazing lady, and his family.

I am not sure if this is appropriate. But I want to leave my message here to memorize Dr. Michael Zhang and to say "Dear Uncle, Happy Birthday! Missing you much for the chats!"

Our deepest condolences to Tessie and the Chang Family. I first met Michael at a bootcamp in San Diego back in 2006 when he was teaching as a mentor there. We have been in touch since then. Michael was a very humble Christian, a passionate scientist and a hardworking entrepreneur. He was always willing to help and share his experience unreservedly. I benefited a lot from our talks over the years. I wouldn’t believe it was our last conversation in December when he mentioned his heart surgery scheduled on February 1st. Although it's very hard to accept that Michael was not with us anymore, his whole-hearted caring to others and optimism towards challenges will surely be cherished by those whose lives were touched by him.

When I first met Uncle Mike, he welcomed my family to his newly-built home in Nevada in 2015.
During our short stay at his house, he took me under his wing and brought me hiking in the mountain trails behind his home. Although I was quite young at the time, he still treated me like a friend and we genuinely had fun exploring the surrounding areas together.
Despite only a couple days of living with each other, Uncle Mike and Auntie Tessie showed nothing but compassion and care that I still remember and cherish today. I wish I could've met Uncle Mike at least once before I head to college this year, he was one of my biggest inspirations to pursue my passion for Biomed and a person I looked up to growing up.

Michael is a Board of Director at Ansun. During the last two years of hardship in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked closely with Michael and got to know him better and our friendship grew.
Michael was successful in many ways. He was a scientist, an successful entrepreneur, a capable CEO at OBI and an experienced drug developer who understand products and the market. He has extensive knowledge and experience of the Biotech industry. On the Board, he provide good advice and wise judgement. He is not only thoughtful, he is also good man with vision.
Most importantly he looked after the broad shareholder value and was respectful of the management. Michael was an effective Director. I miss Michael and his advice to me and to the Company.
