Mary Ellen Palmer passed away on August 23, 2021, in Avondale, Arizona. Mary was a devoted mother grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a caregiver for two of her great-grandchildren while their parents worked. The grandkids kept her on her toes!

Mary was married to Jerry B. Palmer in 1964, just 3 months after they met. They were together for 25 years before he passed away at the early age of 49. Their last year together, they were able to travel the country and make the most of the time they had left together.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Kathy Leach, and son, JB Palmer. She has three granddaughters from Kathy and her husband, John. Jessica (Leach) Archer (27) is married to Tyler Archer and they have one son, Samuel (2). Jenna (Leach) Underwood (25) is married to Brandon Underwood and they have two children, Penelope (5) and Parker (almost 2). Johanna Leach (20) is the third daughter of Kathy and John. She has one granddaughter, Abby Palmer (23), from JB. JB is married to Michelle (Huntington) Palmer.

Mary worked in title insurance alongside Jerry for many years. Together, they owned First American Title Company in Madras, Oregon for 11 years. After she was widowed, she moved to Bend, Oregon to be closer to Kathy and the family she was starting. In 2001, Mary, Kathy, John, and their children all moved to a mini farm outside of Bend, where they lived for 5 years. Then they all moved to the Oregon Coast for 8 years. After Kathy, John and Johanna moved to Avondale, Arizona, Mary, Jenna, Brandon, and Penelope all moved to Avondale a year later.

Mary was a wonderful mother, patient grandmother, and devoted great grandmother. She will be missed greatly.
