Mary's obituary
Mary Marino (Fedele)
Mary was born on September 8, 1937 in Stamford, CT, daughter of Giovanni and Emilia Fedele. She passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 in Yardley, PA.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Joseph John Marino, and her sister, Carmela Fedele Siegel of Coral Springs, FL. Mary and Joseph have two daughters, Laura (Harry) O’Neill of Yardley, PA and Jayne (Tom) Benton of New Canaan, CT, along with eight beautiful grandchildren: Mary Catherine O’Neill, Elizabeth O’Neill, Anne O’Neill, Karoline O’Neill, Harry O’Neill, Joseph O’Neill, Henry Benton, and Bradford Benton.
Mary’s parents had immigrated from the hilltop village of Minturno, Italy and she grew up in Stamford with her siblings, Frank, Anthony, Carmela, and Angela. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1955 and married her high school sweetheart Joe. They would meet at her family’s home with beautiful gardens and grapes on a trellis overhead, sitting on the patio, drinking wine, and dining on Mama’s “Sunday Gravy.” Mary worked with Time Magazine until the young couple moved and settled in Wilton where they raised their daughters. They retired to Sand Key, FL and later moved to Yardley, PA.
Mary devoted her life to her family. She loved to travel with Joe for work, Barcelona and Malta and Monte Carlo among her favorite destinations. A beautiful and gentle woman, she was a source of strength and peace to Joe, her daughters, and her grandchildren. She was a full-time care-giver for her husband as he dealt with Parkinson’s disease.
Mary loved so well and was so well loved. She will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A private Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan with interment at St. Luke’s Church in Darien.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in her memory to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Disease:
