ማህሌት

ክደብረዘይት ላይ ከፍ ብሎ ከአቃቂ

ቆንጆ ተወለደች የወርቅ ፍልቃቂ

ማህሌት የውብ ዳር ነሽ የትንሽ አዋቂ

ስላንቺ ለማውራት ቃል የለኝም በቂ

ጨዋታው ድምቀቱ አንቺ ያለሽበት

ሁሉን እንዳመሉ መያዝ ስትችይበት

ጏደኛ እሚለው ስም ላንቺ አይበቃሽም

እህት ነሽ ጩንዬ ቃላት እይገልፅሽም

አይ የፍቅር እናት የፍቅር እመቤት

አስበሽ ሳትጨርሽ ሄድሽ አሉ ከላይ ቤት

ለሰው ተጨናቂ ትሁት ነሽ ሲበዛ

ጩኒዬ እህቴ ቀረሽ እንደዋዛ

አልቅሼ አልመልስሽ ባነባ በኡኡታ

እሱ ፈልጎሻል ያዝንብኛል ጌታ

በረጅም ጎዳና ሄድሽ አሉ ተሰወርሽ

እናት አባትሽን እህት ወንድም ትተሽ

ታይቶሽ ነበር እኮ ጭላጭል ብርሃን

እንደገና ተስፋ ለመኖር ህይወትን

ጨልሞ አይቀርም ይነጋል እያልን

ሁላችን በተስፋ በእምነት ተሞልተን

ማህሌት እህታችን እንድትድንልን

በፀሎት ሌት ከቀን ጌታን ስንለምን

ደከማት አልቻለችም ሄዳለች ጥላን

አምላክ በቃት አለ አይቶላት ጭቋን

ወሰዳት ደግፎ ሊሰጣት ረፍቷን

እንግዲህ ካመረርሽ ከመረጥሽ መሄድን

ከአዲሱ ቤትሽ ከፈጣሪ ጎን

የኛም ተራ ደርሶ እሱ እስኪጠራን

ስፍራ አዘጋጅልን አብረን እድንሆን

ከሰሚራ ሰኢድ

It’s been a month since the Earth lost a kind, loving, faithful soul. Chuniyeee, miss getting your texts, miss your humor, miss your smile, miss your laughter and especially miss our special time like today (MedhaneAlem elet) every month chatting about our favorite verses - As promised on our last conversation, I will continue to light up our candles until we meet again!

I can confidently say that you were truly an angel that was sent to us from above! Through the zoom calls, we have witnessed so many stories that we never knew before and you continue to lift us up even more and preach us even more through the testimonies. Not only you brightened my life when you were here on earth, but also you brightened and redefined the meaning of life and death for me. You have left us with so many life lessons that will always stay in our hearts - you've taught us how our faith can carry us through our life's journeys, you've taught us not to be afraid of death, not to complain and always focusing on God no matter the situation and strengthening our faith through prayers and always keeping God first!

May God help us learn the many powerful lessons you left us with, may we find and fulfill our calling in life and may we run and finish our race well - by the Grace of our Almighty God!!!

Thank you to all that are working hard to fulfill Chunu’s wishes to secure mammogram machines for Ethiopia.

The following is a 10/24/2020 text from Chunu on the day of the virtual Breast Cancer walk she organized “With this kind of support and encouragement man we can move mountains”.

Here we come Mount Mammogram!!

• Mahlet "Chuni" Girma lived her life well and to the fullest. Our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ was only 33 years of age when God called him home, yet he was able to say "it is finished"
• Mahlet was just 46, and not once did she appear on her videos to have lost faith in God, she didn't waver,  even when it was clear that she was going through a tough time. 
• Watching her vlogs gives one a sense of hope, I would have been blessed to have a friend like her.  I feel like I know her by just watching her updates through her illness. I came across her story and I just couldn't let go.
•  I take this opportunity to send my sympathies and condolences to her entire family and those who had the opportunity to engage with her.  RIP Sister Mahlet "Chuni" Girma, gone too soon. 😢 GHO Snr.
